yes there is the NET, polls, and other services but I personally believe the rankings within conference is important.

If the committee chooses only 8 or 9 teams instead of 10 fromt eh B10 then it matters. A lot of teams are bunched together where they can flip flop depending on the night and who plays.

1, Maryland (AP 9)
2. PSU (AP 13)
3. Iowa (AP 21)
4. Illinois (AP 22)
5. Mich St
6. Purdue
7. Ohio St
8. Michigan
9. Rutgers
10. Wisconsin
11.Minnesota
12. Indiana
13. Nebraska
14. Northwestern

What is this? Where you think everyone will end up?
Where I rank the B10 today

if we lose to IL and Wisky wins their next game they will jump us. Minny and Indiana can jump us if they win a couple in a row if RU doesn't.

My concern is if RU is 10th on the B10 list for the committee and they have the decisions of including a 10th B10 team vs a team from the BE, P12, SEC, etc... They may decide a 5th or 6th team from that other league should get a spot over a 10th team from the B10.

I don't think you are including all the idiots on TKR, if you were we would be 12th, maybe 13th.:Laughing

The funny thing is I thought the "algorithm" I used there would produce something more obviously ridiculous but really those rankings aren't even THAT stupid

Wow, ease up on the OP fellas, geez. Nothing wrong with his post, I understand where he's coming from and it's not at all far-fetched. I don't care what the committee says is a factor and a non-factor, how the selection process has changed, how much NET now plays a role, bla bla bla. At the end of the day it's not robots making these decisions, it's humans, with tendencies, opinions, possibly even agendas, etc. I mean look at history, even recent. OP's concern is valid. It ain't all about statistics people, and it never will be until robots are the ones spewing out the selections.
