Thanks. I KNOW ISU is in great shape and I feel pretty good about the Hawks. I wish we had a little more size to help with rebounding, but we both have the right coaches for our teams for sure!!!
Didn’t expect to win that game at all. Especially at Hilton. The part that stinks is that Iowa easy could have won this game. Aside from the six minute stretch to end the first half and start the second half, Iowa completely dominated that game.
Teams should be thankful Iowa doesn’t have a better big guy inside with a little more size.

Yeah, I don't really expect to get screwed like that every game. I mean I know we will when we play Michigan State or Illinois or Purdue or Wisconsin or Nebraska or Oregon or Michigan or Indiana or pretty much anyone on the road, but yeah we'll be alright.
Thank you. Iowa State didn't play their best game, though iowa played a part in that. Jefferson is a hell of a player and if he continues to improve his shooting he'll have long nba career as 3 and D guy. Won't be sad to see Lipsey go either. Good luck rest of way

Jefferson is great at running straight downhill when defenses don't bother making him commit to his left.
Pick a f***ing side. As locked in as our defense is suppose to be, I'm not sure how this was something that routinely was shirked on.
All players great at driving to the basket have a tougher time when you force them to commit to one angle (and shockingly it's even tougher for them when you bring help to that side you've forced them to commit to..........) as opposed to letting them do all the crossover dribbles, and change directions 28 times between the 3 pt line and the basket. Just sayin...it really is that easy, even with the prevalence for the NBA drive and pass up wide open layups for the unnecessary swing passes around the perimeter until we get a 3, uncontested or otherwise, offense that has engulfed the sport of basketball nowadays........................
And if all else fails, just start doing this every time someone like Jefferson decides to turn into LeBron James driving to the basket like a 6'9" fullback:

Iowa has an impressive squad. Respect the fight and tough D they showed last night. Going to do some damage in the Big Ten. Maybe both Iowa and ISU make the Sweet 16 for what I believe would be the first time in same year.

Likewise. As a Clone fan I can't remember the last time I saw a Hawk team play that physical. McCollum has them playing hungry. A lot to look forward to.
Agreed. Gone are the days of undisciplined teams with Fran..
I can finally show my kids Hawkeye games and say "that's how you box out" or "that's how you play team defense".
You can say they were undiciplined on defense, but not offense. Fran's teams were excellent at getting buckets, better than Iowa current team IMO.
According to Kenpom, Fran's Adjusted Offensive Efficiency at Iowa was an average of 116.25. McCollum's year one at Iowa so far is 120.1.
