But didn't the Minnesota players and coaches know we were rated # 25 and Matt was building a beast in Lincoln?Inexcusable but I felt like this was the case. We aren’t that good and they better be prepared to fight for a win every time out.
We've seen in the right circumstances, i.e. Penn State, Clemson, Fla State, etc once the wheels start to fall off you can wind up in the ditch pretty quickly. Look at how fast PSU collapsed after losing an OT game to Oregon.Yikes....this is concerning.
As in, WTF?
What do the coaches know that we don't know?Throws the assistance under the bus.
Only he knew it was going to be a fight
This guy will be gone soon.
Umm, the quote says that Rhule told them it was going to be tough. They didn’t believe him.Just inexcusable if you ask me. You want to build a good football team or not? Just ******* lazy, just like Frost.
You want to get paid all this ******* money to coach and to play? This is the way you lose your fans real ******* quick.
EVERY game will be tough when you suck at coaching football. EVERY game will be tough when you suck at playing football. That means EVERY game will be tough for all of you. Can you get that through your ******* heads? Unfcukingbelievable with this team.
Put my post up in the locker room for EVERYONE to see until you stop sucking at coaching and playing football.
Yeah, this quote pissed me off. I mean seriously?
So we got a bunch of Boobie Miles who think it’s all God given and all they gotta do is show up?Jmo the players and some assistants thought they could just show up and win and coach Rhule was trying to get them to get with it. Now it could be all bs
Well sure, but that's why it comes across as an "I was ready, but nobody else was" comment.Umm, the quote says that Rhule told them it was going to be tough. They didn’t believe him.
It’s his job to make sure they’re all ready. Terrible comments on par with his George Floyd woke panderingWell sure, but that's why it comes across as an "I was ready, but nobody else was" comment.
Not a great look, when you are the guy in charge.
Starting at the very top.Sounds like the team lacks leaders
I'm guessing he knew that he was going to fire Foley. Maybe didnt want to pour salt on that wound? This is a perfect example of harm avoidance. The rap in Carolina is that Matt will not be accountable when things go wrong.
His comments imply, "Hey, I took MINN seriously, don't blame me it was the assistants who didn't have their groups ready."
Where were Matt's criticism last year when assistant Foley was stinking up the place? He didn't even publicly throw him under the bus.
Something has changed.
Does it even matter?Well sure, but that's why it comes across as an "I was ready, but nobody else was" comment.
Not a great look, when you are the guy in charge.
Listen to what cignetti said at his press conference after beating OregonCurious, and maybe there is an acceptable quote for you, but is there anything Rhule could have said about the Minnesota game where you would have found it acceptable?
It's pretty much this or another "look at the preacher preach"! Right?
After a win? Maybe that’s a bit different?Listen to what cignetti said at his press conference after beating Oregon
Which part?Listen to what cignetti said at his press conference after beating Oregon
No, I would not have thought a comment like that was bad at all. I'm not a vocal critic of Rhule, looking for something to complain about. But I'm also not an unconditional a$$ kisser.A comment taking the blame (My fault, I wasn't ready or I didnt get the players ready), you would also think is bad.
Yeh, no kidding. It's like some kind of Bat Signal goes out to the Johnny Superfans who think Rhule is their buddy.Matt Rhule white knight alert![]()
His coaching abilities are taken out of context. This one comment was taken out of context. He followed up later to clarify.
Oh brotherWhat’s up with the persistent lip licking?
Whatever you need to tell yourself go for it but this has nothing to do with him leaving here in my opinion.Seems like a "I am going to coach at Penn State, and I am just here to make sure those leftover at Nebraska learn the most they can from me before I leave". I am not sure he will be offered but I think in his mind he is the greatest thing since sliced bread and he has an inside track to the job. Similar to Bo telling the fans that they can eff themselves because he is on his way out, when there wasn't another power 5 school that would touch him as a head coach. Coaches live lives of illusion for sure.
You are correct. Many people are against him so it doesn’t matter what he says. He might as well call the fair weather fans a bunch of pu$$iesCurious, and maybe there is an acceptable quote for you, but is there anything Rhule could have said about the Minnesota game where you would have found it acceptable?
