So what exactly did Cohen do to push Vic out? Please don't do the same ole cop-out ********. Have the balls to say what you are implying.

Vic asked for some things. Things to grow the program that cost money and some other things. Vic was like that. Vic was more Mullen-like that people realize. He wanted a lot of stuff. They got into over it and he left when Texas offered.

His next game is against SC

Saw some interesting comments on Twitter wondering if he could finally beat Staley in a big game

Your AD pushed him out the door for wanting to maintain and build on the program.

My wife and I became big Vic fans and followed the MSU when they played in Texas and OKC. We've been following him and Blair here in Austin but we haven't made a game yet.

I told her about the win when she got home from work and that some fans thought we could have stopped him from leaving MSU if we had offered more money or tried harder. She said, "Well there's your proof that stupid is still alive and well."

I also spoke with a very, very close friend after he left who has very, very close ties to his family. I asked them if there was any ill will from Vic and the said no, the decision was hard but he could not pass the opportunity up to come back to Texas for a while.

Cohen would definitely be an idiot then.

Vic was pretty demanding. But if anyone had earned that right, it was him. Cohen should've found a way to make it work. We can pay someone more money. It's the big stuff we can't afford. Covid issues didn't help.

Vic got made promises we couldn't/wouldn't make. Like I said, Texas made his decision easier.

You said Cohen didn't want to help him maintain the program not that he didn't want to help him grow it. It's women's basketball. We can't be investing multiple millions of dollars into a sport that loses us money if we ever want to compete for titles in football, men's basketball or baseball. Y'all stop acting like we can. You know we can't.

No, gramps, wasn’t bothered at all. I just thought you solidified your role as a real life idiot. My observation was that it is funny that you’d call someone out for their posts of speculations on why Vic left when you are the king of hot takes. This is especially true when it comes to WBB. Now get back to your nap or watching Andy Griffith.

So Vic's team is an elite eight already. Wow, they will be bringing home the hardware from that tournament post haste! Congratulations to him.

If you listened to the podcast of Vic's interview not long ago, you would have heard him talk about the new arena with practice facilities, training rooms, weight lifting facilities, etc. for both men's and women's programs. Seems like the figure that he mentioned was $140 million. He said there isn't anything anywhere else that will compare to it. Everybody knew that if it came down to pure dollars and cents, we would never be able to compete with Texas.

If you’d let them out of your mouth for an hour, they would be so wrinkly. And if you don’t like them, stop slopping on ‘em.

[h=1]Texas Revenue: $200 Million - Burnt Orange In The Black[/h]"The Longhorns’ streak of generating at least $200 million in annual revenue is now at three years and counting.''

Even in a pandemic time, the University of Texas athletic department under athletic director Chris Del Conte is a massive money-maker.
UT athletics managed an impressive $22.1 million profit for the 2019-20 athletic year, according to audited figures via the Austin American-Statesman. The total revenue dropped 10 percent and more than $23 million down to $200.8 million from the previous year due to COVID-related issues.
Nevertheless, football as the driving force - as expensive as it is - kept the athletic department profitable.

The damn snake is the woman stealing our money disguised as a basketball coach.

Hmmm... funny thing is I am seeing some eerily similar traits in both Penson and Lemonis. They both seem to be glued to those seats they coach from, and seem to struggle with disciplining their players and kicking them in the rear to straighten them up. The difference in them is that Penson immediately squandered the Top 8 talent left to her in her first year, while Lemonis took the talent left to him and built a CWS trip out of it.

But all of a sudden, with Lemonis, the drop off in talent recruited by another Coaching Staff has reared its head, and he seems lost at what to do because the virus has attacked nearly every upper class man.

I do think even with Vic, there would be some year end transfers, because there were simply too many princesses and not enough hand maidens.

Maybe there were other reasons but his ceiling is higher at Texas, it just is. They’re also building a new arena that will no doubt help with recruiting.

Yes to what you say, and yes there are other reasons and now I understand why no one has told the story.

Until I'm shown otherwise I'm gonna say Keenum can't make a unilateral call on Cohen. I'm convinced Cohen has some mega-cigar boys behind him covering his ***.

This is correct. We can invest millions (which we already were), but there is certainly a limit to what you can justify with exposure. If we want to be competitive in football, men's basketball, and baseball, it means we have to spend less on other sports. There's just no way around that math.

Y'all reading this, y'all hearing this. The school with the 2nd lowest budget in the SEC can't be spending all its bitcoins on women's hoops. Vic wasn't satisfied with that fact. Oh well it was fun while it lasted now it's back to actual life.

wtf are you talking about? One coach took top tier talent and didn’t even make the end of the year tournament. One took top tier talent to the World Series. What qualities do they share? We have been ranked every year Lemonis has been here and ranked top ten now. Some of you mofos need to let the season play out because you are going to look pretty stupid (no different than any other day) when we go back to the college World Series this year.

We will never compete for a title in football or men's hoops. It doesn't matter how much $ either make. We still don't have the stroke that the big boys have revenue or recruiting wise. Baseball there is a chance. But some MSU fans have convinced themselves that the program is a juggernaut when in fact, it is not. We had a program in the 80s that was one of about 10 in the country that cared about NCAA baseball and we still didn't take advantage. Then we got passed by LSU, then SC, then Florida, and now Vandy. Hell, Arkie is probably next on the natty list. That will be another program in the league that has a natty before MSU. And nobody even really mentions the one in Georgia's trophy case.

Vic's nemesis got him again last night, although it must be said USCe has a much better team than Texas. Texas scored zero points in the 4th quarter. I have never seen that since going to quarters. (No, I did not watch the game.)

So Cohen has basically killed 2 programs with his hires....Does Keenum even care?

He has not killed two programs. Football is right at where it’s always been since Croom, a program that’s gonna win 6-8 per year in a normal season, with occasional outliers in both directions. WBB was killed, for all intents and purposes, by Vic Schaefer and/or the University of Texas, however you want to break that down. His replacement sucks, but even a good replacement was going to top out at the Sweet 16 at absolute best, which isn’t going to be enough to keep 95% of our fans significantly invested in the program.

Okay? What did he ask for that he didn’t get? More vague ******** from someone who has no clue.

Even if there was something he asked for, you really think a dude that had a giant ranch style property under construction and nearly finished in Starkville just bolted because we didn’t have an extra week of summer camps or some ****? Its dumbfounding to see how little people understand about the world in general, and people in particular, to where they can’t see the obvious when it comes to how a person makes a decision to take a new job.
