The Shore Conference Championship at Monmouth University should be a great game, as red hot and Public school Marlboro, tries to beat a great private school in Mater Dei Prep. A couple of long time losing programs like Marlboro and Freehold Twp, have had great years. Usually the only consistent public schools to give the privates a run has been RFH the last couple of years, with Neptune and a couple of years Raritan could hang with them. The Shore has always been dominated by the likes of CBA for a long time.

Marlboro has an older team and some shooters. They have a point guard named PJ Ringel, who is Jack Ringel's son. Jack as you might know was Quincy Douby's high school coach, who moved to Marlboro years ago from Brooklyn , and was instrumental in bringing Quincy to the Banks. Marlboro beat the highly rated but younger Ranney team , with their 2 big time players, Antoine and Lewis. , who were recently observed by our Coach Pikiell as well as John Calipari. It was a big time upset !!

Maybe with the final spread but I wasn't with the result. Some have said there was an agenda with the seeding.
Didn't work out the way the powers that be wanted. No matter how hard the one ref wanted/tried. Lol

The boys game was pretty well reffed, I thought,but I was kind of surprised that they let a ref who graduated from Mater Dei Prep,ref. I must say though, he did graduate from there over 40 years ago,lol.
Jimmy Moran is the best ref in the SC if you ask me, and has been for years. But I was a little surprised myself.
Jimmy is very good,and it's funny how many refs around the Shore Conference are from Keansburg, a very small town. I wonder how much ex Hazlet resident, and Keansburg HS Guidance counselor Tom Lopes has to do with that,but like I said,Jimmy went to Mater Dei.
