Enjoying the game. Sounds like a good crowd, given the weather.

The officials are trying to keep kitty in the game.

The ladies are going to have to win the conference tournament to get in to the NCAA. This was a big let down

That kicked ball that they didn’t call on UH changed the complexion of the game in the last two minutes.

Tulsa blows a late game lead and loses to Houston by less than 5 points Haith kind of Game by 1. A really close loss hmm

Total collapse. NIT looking like an outside shot now. Won a lot of OOC games against really bad teams. Maybe playing such a soft schedule is hurting us now as we get into the middle of league play?

Well if they can finish strong we can see what kind of recruiting she can do to make them better

Need some height every team we play has bigger girls 6’1” if our tallest and that Tamira. Houston had 15 offensive rebounds to our 5

I’m going to take a break from here for awhile. I’ve written my letters to Rick last year and this year.

As much as I enjoyed watching our men’s team in the past, it is just unwatchable now. The women’s team has been fun and has done well in Angie’s first year. This should give Rick a clue on how the rebuilding of the men’s team could go with the right coach. The only thing out of our control is the atrocious officiating that seems hellbent on giving the wins to our opponents.

At this point I wish you and the athletic programs at TU the best. I have my own physical battles to fight right now, and don’t need any more negativity to deal with. Aloha.

They were 5-14 last year and 13-5 this year. We were playing with house money a long time ago...

We had a massive turnaround this year but that also is indicative of the schedule that they have as well.

But even if you look at the losses, it's a step in the right direction. They were 5-14 last year and most of those games weren't even close, the team wasn't even competitive in all but 1 of the losses. They easily could have been WORSE than 5-14. They've picked up wins this year and are competitive in most of their losses and nobody likes moral victories but being close is a sign that we're definitely moving in the right direction.

Have they made the kind of progress that you could realistically expect with a first time coach coming off a truly terrible season? I think so, I'm quite happy with their direction.

Playing a soft schedule always hurts. I hate that type of strategy. Makes mediocre teams look good. Makes great teams not prepared. I'm not sure what we are yet. I want to believe this team can be great. If we are then the scheduling did us a disservice.

I slightly differ with that blanket thought. I think a team which has been mentally destroyed with losses sometimes needs to gain a winning mentality especially with a coaching change. I remember Scott Drew from the basement of Baylor's demise schedule a ton of wins to re-establish a winning atmosphere at Baylor. I do agree with you if you have an established winning program that tougher competition will strengthen you. Both situations might need to be considered.

I agree with you on this. They still need to play a tougher schedule. This will only make them better.
