WM and Swain Volume 3

The third game in the series between Swain and West Montgomery was very entertaining, just as all three games have been. Since the first meeting in 2011, these teams have now played three classics and although this years game didn't end as a nail-biter, the underdog Maroon Devils showed why they are one of the state's all-time programs. Well coached and will never quit. West played hard all night on both sides but Swain kept making play after play on offense in first half. Warrior D stepped up and made stops in 3rd quarter to swing the momentum. Playing against competition like Swain no matter what the record is will only help the Warriors and this is a good win.

Who would have thought Swain would give up 70? All three match-ups have been playoff games and WM now has won 2 of the three (both at home). WM has scored 149 points in three games against Swain, which has to be the highest points per game average against them in their history.

Have had the pleasure (and pain) to see all three match-ups. It is a long ride home for the losing team. Hope everyone had safe travels and congrats to both of these programs.

Well said. I don't think I could stand seeing that Swain offense more than once every other season or so. Safe travels home. I'm sure we'll get to do it again soon.

Great job boys. Swain played a heck of a game. Celebrate tonight. Then get focused on EM. Another win and we are playing in a regional final at home. Great job coaches. That guy yelling kick a field goal at the end WOW. We could have but I like 6 anytime. All WM fans let's show up and be even louder next week.

I just wanna say thank you to the Swain fans, Coach's and of course the players. As expected another electric game between these 2 well coached football programs. Enjoy the win Warriors as you should BUT it's all about the next game now. Warriors just practice hard, listen and learn the game plan and come to play. Don't get into the BS of talking smack. Just use your skills and pads for that.
We will have 2 starters back for the 3rd round game so that will definitely help stop their efforts. Eagle fans and players come and enjoy another game in Warrior Stadium. Another 1st time here in this long history. I'm sure it will be a good game. Be safe and see probably 5k of people come Friday night.

Anytime you face Swain in the playoffs you are going to have your hands full. Great effort by both teams, coaches and fans. Mr. Joe Leake. What else can you say.

One of the most entertaining games I have ever seen for two quarters. It was like two heavyweight champions throwing punches and niether willing to go down for the count.

In the second half, Leake was unstoppable and his performance more than anything else led to a Warrior victory. The best single game performance I have seen since Jaquil Capel at Swain during the playoffs three years ago. I don't mean to slight anyone else on the team, but honestly, without Leake the outcome could have been much different.

Good Luck to the Warriors the rest of the season and I hope you guys go all the way. I would also like to give a shout out to a very young Maroon Devils team for hanging in there and giving everything they had right down to the end of the game.

I am very much looking forward the next matchup between the Warriors and the Devils.

Yeah Diablo.... great game. You know what 100% of losing teams say? "IF" Joe owned the field last night. He wasn't going to lose. I don't think the outcome would have been different. West adjusted to the veer at the half. Swain had no answer all night for the speed of West Montgomery. ZERO.

Yes, he is an a-- has always been one and will never change. The Warriors made great adjustments at the half . When WM stopped Swain on their second possession in the second half, the Warriors gained the edge. I've always said the kids from Swain county are "football smart". They understand the game and play accordingly. WM Dozier and Leake are also football smart (others may be as well). Warriors are going to be a tough out. No one is giving them a chance (or anyone else against the East) , but I think the coaching staffs in the West will give any team game!!
