One of my confirmed top 5 strengths, from the Gallup Strengths Finder test, is Positivity, and I am expecting to be disappointed. Maybe I shouldn't base my mood on the decisions of high school kids? I sure hope I am wrong.
So of the remaining targets that are announcing on Signing Day.... We are in on?
Daniels - DL
Lenoir - DB
Blades - DB
Johnson - ATH
Lewis - WR
Calvin - WR
Onyemaobi - DB
Thompson - WR
Rafdal? Could be announcing before NSD
Did I miss any?
That's an insane amount of prospects to be in on this late in the game... I honestly would add Guy Thomas to this list as well as I really have never felt that he is a true "commit", don't get me wrong, I hope we get that young man as he has the potential to be a special pass rusher in a 3-4 defense, just not 100% sold on his commitment. Sitting at 17 current commits (including Thomas). What 5 or 6 do we get out that group? If we don't get 5 are we ok with a class of 20? I know Devaney stated they are looking at 22 to be the number.
I honestly think we get Rafdal (I hope he doesn't go to Iowa), Calvin, Blades, Daniels. Up in the air and I really think we do have a shot Onyemaobi, Thompson, Lenoir.
I wish/Hope but don't have a good feeling about Johnson or Lewis. Think they will both end up at USC. Just my 2 cents worth. What are everyone else's thoughts
Yes, good work on those names... I really think we will get one of Calvin or Hawkins and I think we want them in that order. Verdell has been quiet... He has never officially decommitted from Oregon and unless they can flip car late, which i don't see happening I think he sticks with the ducks. Wallace is interesting because he was said to have shut things down but then yesterday set up the visit to NU. He could be the one that on NSD just decides to jump aboard?Other than your list there are a few guys we still have a shot at that may or may not announce before signing day including:
Tony Wallace-DB
CJ Verdell- RB
Jeremiah Hawkins- WR
I wonder if there is anyone left on our board that we just don't know about.
He has only taken one visit and that is to Utah this weekend... What are his other two schools Utah? and ??? Seems odd that a DT with his size that is a 4 star hasn't taken more than 1 visit? To me it seems that he is locked in on Utah but I could be wrong there?Noah Elliss also has us in his final 3
According to Blair Angulo his final 3 are Colorado, Mississippi State and Nebraska. He has only taken one visit and that is to Utah this weekend... What are his other two schools Utah? and ??? Seems odd that a DT with his size that is a 4 star hasn't taken more than 1 visit? To me it seems that he is locked in on Utah but I could be wrong there?
I am more confident in us signing Lewis and Johnson than I am Hawkins.I'm confident we'll sign:
CB Blades
CB Onyemaobi
DT Daniels
WR Calvin
WR Hawkins
Verdell, Lenoir, Thompson, Rafdal, and Wallace all seem like 50/50 shots to me.
I think Lewis/Johnson are less than 50/50, which really sucks, because those dudes could be program changing for us
I would love for that to happen. Hawkins seems like nothing more than a depth guy to me, whereas Lewis and/or Johnson would be game changers. I just refuse to get my hopes up for those two because I don't want to be pissed off on NSDI am more confident in us signing Lewis and Johnson than I am Hawkins.
In all honesty I hope Calvin goes somewhere else. This dude went from Nebraska #1, committing to Oregon State, saying he's still looking, decommits, and now is only looking at us and Wash. State. All within a month. If he were to commit I would be very surprised if he finished his career at Nebraska.
There's a guy who usually has pretty good info on another board had this to say this morning
"I got a text that our staff is expecting between 4-5 four and five star players to commit by NSD. I'm not sure I believe that. But it certainly makes things more interesting going after the lunkers committed to USC, Oregon, and Florida rather than flipping dudes from Akron."
