Will Leach eventually learn you need a running game?

Seems like Leach never running the ball led to K Hills decision to leave... and that feels like it’s been a game changer for several games now.

Kingsbury learned it pretty quickly at Arizona. The problem is I think Leach would rather lose than tinker with his precious system.

I remember MSU playing Houston in 2010 and Mike Leach was the color commentator for the game...and he praised our Running ability, praised Vick Ballard's runs, and even called for Chris Relf to run more QB Draws.

After that game (we beat Houston) I thought Mike Leach could be a good fit at MSU if he mixed his Passing concepts in with the Running game that seemed to praise and seemed to value. However, 10 years later he seems to see NO VALUE in running the football.

Well at least Leach learned to unfold his 2 inch play call sheet this game to see the other 5 plays listed on it so there's that.

Got to evolve snd learn to adapt if you want to truly see what the offense can do. If the numbers give you run you should run especially in the red zone or 3 and 1

Will Leach eventually learn that nine times out of ten when you pass latterly you won't gain any yards?

This post was supposed to quote the first post in this thread but my Knob Creek got in the way.

No he will not eventually learn anything. He had his Air Raid brain caramelized and then frozen so no new knowledge could ever accidentally soak in.

Kylin and others left because Leach has a no drugs policy. No exceptions.

Well that is stupid. Its not like Kylin is freebasing Heroine in the locker room at halftime.
I would be more concerned with Kylin being on twitter at halftime.

I forget who, but somebody described it as the air raid is Leach's religion and he considers himself the high priest. From his point of view it would be sacreligious to tamper with it in any form.

What frustrates me is how long it takes us to hand the ball off as well as our RBs wanting to dance instead of take the ball and go north-south. The handoff thing is like we are running the read option which we are not. Rogers should be able to keep his head up and then quickly hand it off. On draws, it is even more important to sell the pass. We give zone defenses enough time to come back up and make the tackle. Hit the hole and run to daylight man.

As for running the ball, we need to have that option in the red zone. That is where the Air Raid bogs down especially with defenders flooding the zones.

We can all argue the severity of crime, but if I have a guy that cannot even put down weed for the sake of the team, his career, and his future, that’s not a guy I want leading my team.

Well, we ran it 10 times against OM for a whopping 10 yards. Guess we might have won if we had ran it 30 times for 30 yards. Leach doesn't run the ball. Period. He will never know as much about football as the Sixpack.

I’d rather my senior RB put his career and an NFL draft that’s 4 months away over recreational drugs. If he can’t, I won’t dislike him or bash him. I just won’t allow him to lead my team

Does anyone on sixpack know more about coaching college football than Mike Leach.............No

Are sixpackers able to recognize a bad running offense and have the ability to criticize it on the pack.........Yes

We get it for the 1000th time......we are not college coaches. We are on a message board and not at a coaching clinic.

Perfect example of a 'false premise.'

A false premise is an incorrect proposition that forms the basis of an argument or syllogism. Since the premise (proposition, or assumption) is not correct, the conclusion drawn may be in error. However, the logical validity of an argument is a function of its internal consistency, not the truth value of its premises.

What's wild is that Shavers came to MSU when he knew leach was the coach. Tells you what kind of enforcement there is at other schools that he apparently just assumed the no drugs policy was for show.

Wait... this isn't a board full of coaches and ex coaches where we share our expertise?

I've got a lot of kids to apologize to.

I've never seen a team telegraph a running play like we do since the days of old-school power-I high school football.
