After two games, his ability to get to the hoop is very impressive. Probably the best part of his offensive game.
Many times the only way to stop him is to foul. He has already taken a number of tough fouls.
These fouls will get tougher as we step up in competition. Fortunately he is very physically mature for his age but you have to wonder about the wear and tear.

After two games, I thought his ability to get to the rim could lead to injury once the teams got more physical.
Looks like he had a bad luck injury at PSU. I hope we get a chance to see him again at full strength before he heads off to the NBA.

His lack of being injury free will scare off several teams in the NBA draft I'm afraid. I remember a couple of HS tournaments last season he sat out because of a lower body injury. The NBA is a tough long season. I 100% hope I'm wrong though.

Basketball and rolling ankles go together.

And things are only going to get tougher when he gets to the nba.

If the implication is that he is now injured because he goes to the rim so much I think that is a step too far. As you pointed out in your second post it was simply unlucky.

In fact I will say that he is so smooth and changes speeds so well that for someone who goes to the rim so much he actually has an uncanny way of avoiding dangerous contact. Kind of like the running back who rnever gets absolutely drilled because they naturally avoid direct hits.

I actually see Dylan more that way then someone who is just getting pummeled every time he drives.

He just needs to learn when it is safe to play through contact and when he should just slide on the deck and take the foul. NBA coaches will help him refine that skill.

One thing Scarlet, don’t confuse a play through it, inconvenient rolled ankle to a debilitating high ankle sprain,

You also have college players doing unusual things... iirc, the guy he came down on should have been up in the air himself, but remained on the floor.. unexpectedly.

check this old video out..
