Why should Hobbs change his approach?

Willard and Ash were up and comers from top tier programs. Hobbs has been praised for the hires. Why go for a recycled coach or "jersey guy"?

Because an assistant basketball coach never made a decision. A defensive coordinator makes calls all game. We have NO idea if an assistant basketball coach will be a good HEAD coach

Willard was a head coach, in college football, coordinators are hired all the time...much different in college hoops where you have 350 schools not 128 so your coaching pool is one that rising through the ranks at other programs...very rarely if at all do you see assistant hired for major jobs

Because the AAU in NJ is asking for someone they can talk to!

Amazing how Willard is now such a good hire when 12 months ago all were trashing him and the SHU program.

Last year he was 16-15 and the year before 17-17.
Add in his 15-18 record in 2012-13 and you have a HC that's shown the door by many programs.

Just because Willard would be considered a lifetime success at Rutgers with those W-L records along with Hall's record this season's, doesn't mean he'll prove to be one at the Hall .
