So to my understanding that the 1A and 8A State Championship game will be played Thursday after next. With all the games being played that week why not just played 1A and 8A this Saturday. That way you have that many games out of the way. To me I can see benefits come out if they did that. Such as more fans turning out more so than on a weekday evening or night. Also students would not have to miss out on school day. Also players would not have to miss a week of playing. Could they have done something better or different. Or did they not have a choice and did the right thing. Thoughts

Also, these kids could go ahead and report to winter sports a week earlier. Important at all levels but I would say that a lot of your 1a players play multiple sports for their teams.
Someone needs to get you an application to be on the Board! That's a great idea, maybe they will consider that next year. Doing that makes it much easier for media personal.
Why not this Saturday? Because the NCHSAA could screw up a wet dream. The small 8A was a joke this year.
I do not understand why the coaches and ADs did not start questioning this immediately. There would be a full Saturday for these two classifications to get the spotlight.
Playing on a Thursday night is ridiculous. I would understand using one facility and having the games spread out over three days if a dome stadium was being used.
Robbinsville v Wilson. Charlotte v Raleigh 8A game. The central point is Greensboro. Someone has to play at Lenoir Rhyne which is about half way which is the closest halfway point between the 1A schools but not sensible for the 8A game.
I can only imagine who screwed up basketball will be. Remember when two Charlotte schools were sent to the Foothills to play a regional final.
