I just don't get the thinking of four. It would be like the NFL telling a division winner that they did not qualify for the playoffs. There are five big conferences, plus everybody knows an undefeated , or 1 loss Notre Dame is getting a spot. That's six spots right there, there are six "big" bowls. P5 , NY6. Shouldn't the Rose, Fiesta, Orange, Sugar, Peach, and Cotton all get playoff games every year to truly distinguish themselves? Shouldn't the "Power 5" conferences get an automatic bid to the playoffs to distinguish itself? Shouldn't a Group of 5 team like UCF, Boise, Cincy, Memphis, Houston, or whomever else get a shot if they go undefeated ? I hope for chaos one year, for there to be 6 undefeated teams. Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Notre Dame just so the committee will have to justify stupid made up criteria. It isn't consistent , sometimes it's eye test, sometimes it's SOS, sometimes it's whole body of work, sometimes it's how strong they finish, sometimes it's out of conference , sometimes it's conference, sometimes it's how healthy are they, sometimes it's if the gorillas or elephants in the room like blue, red, or yellow. Stop the crap, this isn't a playoff. It's an invitational .
