He always does that on short yardage and its stupid. Watkins was tearing it up and got us down there and then Monty pulls him for our 5' 7" 160 tailback. He cant' break tackles and has no momentum.
On the other hand Brooks could have went over the top on that last 1.2 yard play where every one was in the box
but instead our QB tries to slide into the end zone... WRONG SPORT!! i remember having a QB by the name of Paul smith that put his body on the line to get the win.
Paul Smith is one of my favorites! But honestly, Brin stood in & took a lot of shots while completing passes today, especially in the second half. He also had the best tackle I’ve ever seen by a Tulsa QB on that fumble return!
Brin put his body on the line today, but he definitely didn’t make a good play on that 3rd down run.
Dane would have broken his shoulder to get that TD..
Gus would have never been in a position to win a game like this.
