Because scoring points is more important than playing good defense if you want to take a leap in wins. That doesn't mean I want a crap defense, but we've struggled on offense the past 5+ years and have nothing to show for it. We allowed less than 20 ppg on defense the past two seasons, but failed to score at least 30 ppg since 2018 - the same year we last had a 1,000 rusher. We have been pretty good at getting athletes on par with the teams in the B10 minus Ohio St and Oregon. We've lacked identity and just need to spin it around the yard with Raiola and the athletes around him. We don't have to run pure air raid but it is time to open it up and get points on the board.

QUIT playing patty cake with teams who want to limit possessions and win close games! We are getting beat by Illinois (L 4/5), Iowa (L 9/10), Minnesota (L 5/6), Wisconsin (L 9/10) for a reason.

2019: 28 ppg (5-7)
2020: 23 ppg (3-5)
2021: 27 ppg (3-9)
2022: 22 ppg (4-8)
2023: 18 ppg (5-7)
2024: 23 ppg (6-6)

Top 10 offenses:
Miami 10-2
Indiana 11-1
Boise St 11-1
Notre Dame 11-1
SMU 11-1
Tulane 9-3
UNLV 10-2
Texas Tech 8-4
Ole Miss 9-3
Tenneseee 10-2

It will be nice to have DH in a full time capacity through spring and fall practices as opposed to a 4 week crash course towards the end of the season.

In the Big Ten, successful offenses feature a strong OL with solid depth and good coaching. I’m confident that Halgorsen understands this. It will be interesting to see how deficiencies are addressed going forward.

I miss the days where Nebraska didn’t need to constantly be saved.

He demands a high attention to detail. Hopefully that rubs off on the rest of the program. Also, I think a lot of people don’t understand that he (and Leach) had more tough and physical teams than a lot of other air raid teams out there

Agreed!! Enough with the "Chasing 3" mantra too, stop conditioning your players to be in one score games. Indiana had a grand total of 1, one score game this year and did just fine in the Big Ten. #gbr

I would be a fan of developing an offense that wins two score games. Maybe even three scores.

All the more reason this team needed this Bowl game... I'm looking at the bowl practice as a Pre-Spring game chance for him to coach up what this team has so when spring rolls around he has a real opportunity to make a difference in their development

I am not sure if there is a team (for me anyway) that went from this super cool story to kind of annoying, in about a 5 week span.

Indiana did so much complaining about where they were ranked or should be ranked...it just became a turn off for me.

Instead of chasing 3 we should change it to scoring 50 so they get in the mindset of blowing teams out.

the problem is you don't want to only be as good as your offensive coordinator.

see Indiana post-DeBoer and Auburn post-Malzahn.

more than Holgorsen being the solution, this needs to represent a change in Rhule's understanding of what he looks for in a coach, and I think its exceedingly rare for that to ever happen.
