Why has Josh Heupel not even been mentioned?

His resume is pretty good although I know very little about him and his style.

Wondered that myself for a while, but it was when it seemed that Lincoln Riley might actually be moving to Dallas. I assumed Heupel would be a likely replacement in Norman. Now, who knows?

Baylor site has him in their coaching search article and I think in their top 3 for now (Napier not in it).

Local radio here in Orlando said his buyout is $10mil as well.

i think it's because they weren't as good this year in the 2nd year after Frost left. probably a pretty good coach. he was fired as the OC under stoops but started making a come back enough to get that job. plus UCF has pissed off a bunch of people but that is more their school than him.

They did play a freshman QB and won 10 games. Their 3 losses were on the road at Pitt by 1 and two 3 point losses @ Cincy and @ Tulsa.

Pretty good for a down year. Tulsa loss was bad though.

He’s certainly a good candidate. UCF is on the rise. There campus, athletic facilities and location make it a desirable job. I don’t think they could compete financially with us.

There are now so many obscure names being thrown out here on this board that I am having to Google to see who the heck they are.

Keep in mind that he has won at UCF with the best talent in the AAC. His success doesn't necessarily translate at a school that is the 5th best recruiter in its division.

You ever been to UCF? I was a game this year in their "Club." There's nothing nice about their existing facilities.

They have some construction going on though, but right now their facilities are nothing to write home about. I'd be surprised if their facilities are any better than Vandy's.

We've got no idea what will or won't translate. ULL has the second best probably talent in their league yet most seem to love Napier

I have been to UCF. I realize not SEC facilities but I thought they were nice. You make a good point. I was listening to ESPN radio last week and Ryan Leaf was discussing how MSU needed to step up to the plate facility wise knowing he’s never been on campus. I definitely think think we have too 20 facilities nationally.

Well, you just mentioned him and that's as good as any other name, since the guy leading the search hasn't spoken on the matter except to say don't believe anything unless he says it.
