I know nothing about the science for the alcohol test so just curious if it's transmitted by aerosol why can't we develop a quick rapid test by coughing into something?

There's an at home saliva test that gives results in 10 min in development

The tech should be scalable to a dollar a test. The "problem" will be accuracy and whether the FDA will finally realize we need to value speed and quantity over precision. 17ing nerds need to manage this like a pandemic and not case by case risk.

I need to find the article I read but the test was something like 80 percent accurate (possible you get a false positive but very rare a false negative - better false positive than negative). That's exactly what we need right now. Just take a dollar test if you intend to be in an environment where you can't keep distance. Business owners can protect their employees better and cheaply. Families can have gatherings without risking grandma as much. Cheap and easy. Yet, here we are.
