Why are BIG refs so horrible?

Considering NU is playing one of the all-time conference darlings, this crew has not been all that bad. I was expecting worse, to be honest.
They gave NU 3 points with the taunting penalty....
Do any of you “experts” understand they didn’t have to bring pressure all day, and pushed out lines **** in, when we had a 1 or 2 man advantage? But yeah “a different QB” is really gonna help. Dipshits

Pretty much everyone disagreed with the OP, but don't let that spoil a good finger-wagging.
We had chances to win. Failed 4th down on the first drive. Missed field goal.
But yeah that obvious pass interference that wasn’t called on 3rd down would have kept our drive alive but instead we had to punt and go down a score. You can’t pretend those things don’t affect outcomes.

I don’t think anyone is pretending those don’t affect the outcome… I don’t think poor officiating, and missed FGs and failed 4th downs have to be independent factors in determining the outcome of a game… to deny that BIG officiating is anything other that incompetence is the same as saying the missed FG, and the failed 4th down had nothing to do with the loss… BIG officiating has been a joke since we joined the conference, possibly longer, can’t really say since I never paid attention to it until we joined…
The purpose of the post is to initiate the conversation of how can the conference be considered in the top two and not have even FBS level refs…
there should be some kind of deal worked out for the SEC and the BIG to be able to bring in the pro Refs for Saturday games.
It went on all day by both teams. Why that play? If not for that call you guys are probably having really different discussions about the state of your program
When you pickup 3 flags and waive them off you just have ****** officials in general. Don’t think they affected the game any they were just bad officials.
I'm not trumpeting this officiating crew as being great. But I've watched Big Ten athletics long enough to know that any time you play a conference darling and don't get absolutely screwed blind, it's a pleasant surprise.

Well to be fair, pissing away three days on an opposing team's message board complaining about the one somewhat questionable flag that went against your team in a road win is probably fairly normal behavior in Wolverine Land.
