Who will start in LF against Vandy?

Will it be Skinner, Cumbest, or McDonald? I could see Coach Lemonis starting any of them out there. I see Skinner as the most athletic of the 3, Cumbest as the most likely to launch a HR and McDonald as the most likely to get a hit. It is a nice problem to have I guess.

Cumbest has earned a weekend out there in my opinion. Yes, most of his hits are midweek and yes, he looked bad in that at-bat against Kentucky, but again, he's earned a chance to have a whole weekend to weather the ups and downs.

We’re 28-8 even with Hatcher being what he is, and the one time we tried to sit him in a meaningful game it was a disaster defensively. I think you just have to keep hoping the light comes on. It’s not as if he’s never hit for us in the past, he was a .320 hitter in 2019 and hit .311 last year prior to the cancellation.

Like you said we're 28-8 with Hatcher, thats 36 games he's had to figure it out. He's not in a two week slump, he's in a season long slump and we're headed down the stretch and need another bat.

I'm not very familiar with Rocker and Leiter, but don't they both throw lots of fastballs?

In my opinion, Cumbest is a "fastball hitter," rather than being good at hitting the off-speed stuff (e.g., change-ups, curve balls, etc.).

So . . . maybe playing Cumbest would be a good move.

Yeah I like the idea of Cumbest starting in general, but I don’t see him matching up well with Rocker’s slider.

Why does every baseball thread go here? We are talking about LF. Hatcher is locked in at 1st and TA is RF so those positions are not up for debate.
