Downey wrestled for Iowa State and was a bit of an outlaw. Entered Iowa this semester but failed drug test . He was a much sought after prospect a few years ago. He could have been bad mouthing Kyle to get him fired up but I have not heard this.

Downey is a twitter trash talking fool. He offered to fight Crutchs teammate in MMA last year and the bad blood from that has continued to fester since.

The guy has wasted an awful lot of talent so far.

Especially in a year they were not going to realistically challenge for the title. I might understand if they felt they were a placer away from a title shot.
