He's bounced back, I'll give him that, and has hired assistants who don't totally suck, and that has made a huge difference along with recruiting. Imagine that. Say what you want about Danny but he is the most accomplished coach in Nebraska history. Now that isn’t saying much of anything at all. A big 8 championship. A NIT tournament championship. The choke jobs in the NCAA tournaments were very disappointing.

GMs and owners in the NBA have WAY more to do with a coach’s success than the coach does. But keep sharing your vast knowledge.

It was wild. My oldest got to sit on the bench and go in to the locker room at halftime of a home game due to. BB camp thing. He said all Nee did was scream and swear at the team. No strategy. Just expletives. He was at Nee’s camp the summer before Lue’s freshman year. He came home telling us about this incredible point guard who was at camp. Tyronn Lue.

Yes lots of dysfunction. Had they put it aside earlier in the 96 season and made the NCAA tournament who knows how far they would have gone. Went from a player lockout to going on a late reason run.

WAY different but an NFL coach is still dependent on the guys the GM drafts or signs. A cfb coach has more control than an NFL coach in most cases but he’s still limited to the guys he can sign. NFL coaches and GMs are constantly having to retool for salary cap and free agency reasons.
