No doubt at this point that the Pac 12 and Big 12 are the best conferences in one game sets. So what happened to the Big Ten and will we see changes next year:
1. We underestimate how awful PSU, Nebraska and Northwestern were and gave too much value early on to Minny and of late to MSU. Those are not good basketball teams and probably would not thrive in any Power 6.And Iowa,although decent plays no defense at all.
2.The NET and its convoluted metric system is broken. The old RPI wAs more accurate and thus year had the Big Ten behind the Big 12 all season.
3.The smaller conferences are undervalued and we will as an offshoot start seeing many historic one-bid conferences become two-bid conferences.
4. The days of 9-10 bid NCAA conferences are probably over,at least in the short term.
5.The top of the Power 5s like Michigan,Baylor,Duke will continue to thrive with recruits but in my opinion many of the Loyola,Drake, Houston types will be able to steal some Power 5 kids because of enhanced visibility
