If he doesn't commit to Duke this weekend after being down there, I'll feel much better about our chances.

This is pretty much where I'm at. They're putting on a full court press, combined with the crystal ball on TOS. If we make it out of this weekend without a commitment, I'll feel good.

I'll be honest. I didn't vote. Of course, I hope it's RU.

This recruitment could go down to the wire.

He's not gonna commit this weekend. I don't think he's even going to the campus, but has an unofficial there coming up. That would be the time to be more concerned about a commit I would think. I don't see that happening though

Honestly, I think he already knows where he’s going and we’ll have to wait and see.

Hopefully it’s On the Banks!

It's gonna be hard to beat Duke tbh.
Elite recruits will always be hard to land

I think the longer he waits the more likely it will be Duke. If he went to Rutgers he would want to decide early on to get other recruits on board. I hope I’m wrong but gun to head I think he chooses duke. I could live with that decision though, unlike Indiana which would really suck.

Harper still has two years of high school which means that he doesn't really need to make a commitment until the fall of his senior year.

I don’t agree here. It’s only December. He’s enjoying the process. No need to make an early decision

there is a long way till signing for him

He could feel that Duke is the place after the unofficial, not announce it yet, then he is right back in Jersey, maybe going to a bunch of our games, etc

If I had to guess, I would think he might be a Duke lean, but can still be won over

I'm not voting, as it would simply be a guess. But I am 100% certain that I want him to commit to Rutgers, LOL.

No way he is a Duke lean. Right now everything points to Rutgers. He is here now at games with his Mom. Watching us tear it up at home and soaking it the RaC love. He is a junior and is allowed 5 official visits and he is taking them and will enjoy them. No chance in hell he commits to Duke now. He will commit to us early before the start of next year and bring along a buddy or 2. Duke can move on to their next 5 or 4 star.

I truly have no idea but I really want him here.

3rd year Simpson, 2nd year Griffiths and Dylan would be an INSANE backcourt trio.
Yeah, this would be pretty sweet.

Not that it matters since having all three of them would be great regardless, but Griffiths is not really a "backcourt" guy. He is a true "3" or even stretch 4 at the next level, though I concede that the 2 and the 3 are somewhat interchangeable in college.

Very true. Given Pike’s somewhat positionless approach and Gavin’s build I’m anticipating him playing the 3 as more of a big guard than a small forward but this is all just my imagination anyway.

I think it ends up -- we got unlucky. The one school that could beat us out, decided to make him a priority. Duke was who I was hoping didn't get involved. Hope I'm wrong

That has zero logic to it since almost no one commits that early, but your posts aren't about logic. It's about being negative at all times
It’s perfectly logical given the quality of the poster. Ted Knight is rolling in his grave over having to serve as this poster’s avatar.
