for the people on this board calling for Moorhead's firing to admit that we shouldn't have fired a coach after two seasons and 14 wins?

Back-to-back 5-7 seasons? Worse?

If the next coach does better than Moorhead I'll gladly admit that I was wrong that we shouldn't have fired him after Year 2.

don't forget lack of adjustments. lack of creativity. lack of Strength and Conditioning. pitting himself against the fan base. constantly putting our program history down like JWS or Mullen never existed. always talking about building or rebuilding something that he wasn't. complete denial of where his program was. refusal to truly admit there was no progress being made and that goes back to the lack of adaption. no fire in his eyes to compete and for perfecting their game. dude was not a winner. he was a loser. you could tell it in his personality. the only time he ever showed fire was when it felt fake after being criticized about it or toward the fan base. he never got the fan base behind him and tried to rally them. instead it was him and his locker room versus the fan base. not a good way to be a coach

and who says the coaching search is a disaster? because it wasn't handled in two days? i'm not the biggest cohen supporter, but he at least did what needed to be done and i'm going to wait to see who he brought in. I personally think he is doing what he did with Lemonis and taking his time. he also learned his lesson from that hire and keeping it quite and not saying much. there were lots of rumors swirling back then. I personally think he is trying is best to get a Lemonis type hire. We will see. if he sucks this one up. then i will bash him again and i think he will be done if this hire doesn't pan out.

If we go 5-7 or worse for two years in a row I’ll place even more blame on Moorhead because that would mean the team was even further in the dump and undisciplined that we thought.

Those are just the things the public know about there are more incidents that happened that caused him to be let go

JoMo's mojo was pretty bad. Maybe it turns out that he was a good recruiter, but he really became less inspiring as it went on.

We could have given him another year, and he may have won 6 games again, but I kinda doubt it. His lackluster approach and attitude have nearly destroyed us.

He couldn't make in game adjustments. We looked slower, weaker, and more incompetent in the 2nd half of every game he coached.

The team never showed consistency or signs of improvement. That's a result of a poor coach.

I mean, I hate it. It's a bad look for us... but JoMo had to go.

His firing was 100% correct, as was the timing.

It would take you checking with the sidelines for a delay of game on the first play from scrimmage...

If he gets another P5 head coaching job and wins a conference championship within the next 5 years... MAYBE I'll say it was a mistake. But there's really nothing else he or we can do that would make me say it was a mistake. Now, we could make a huge mistake with this next hire - but that's a different problem.

All year long I said I'd give him the full season before I make a judgement on him. There was nothing I saw in year 2 that gave me any confidence he would improve MSU football if we gave him more time. I'm one who a few weeks ago argued our offense looked ever so slightly better than 2018, but even then it doesn't mean I supported keeping him for another year. The football program as a whole just looked so bad under his leadership.

If we lose 11 games next year, most will say we'd have lost 12 with Moorhead. Gone are the days of admitting being wrong.

Now it's "my truth"

My bad, I thought this was a scoreboard business. Had we gone 10-2 in 2018 and 8-4 in 2019 we still would have fired Moorhead. Got it.

Firing him was 100% the right thing to do. Timing wasn't great, but I'm feeling better about our football program today than I was the last day Joe was our coach.

I'm with you: I don't care about wins/losses. I just want no off-field issues and sound, fundamental basketball...er...football.

Let's show our appreciation for firing Moorhead by packing Davis Wade win or lose like we've packed the Hump the last eight years!

I'm way ahead of them. I'm already drafting a post blaming Moorhead for our first baseball loss.

Us not hiring a guy that's won 17 in two seasons and been to 16 bowl games in 18 years at power conference places that are harder to win at than MSU....
