What if Joe Brady is the guy...

And all these interviews and “done deals” are just smokescreens to distract until the National Championship is over?

I know many believe his system wouldn’t work at MSU based off of what we just went through, but hear me out.

Perhaps the system wasn’t the problem, rather it was Moorhead himself just being a bad fit with our guys. Discipline issues are well documented and those are just the ones we know about. Many players showed no improvement under him and some even regressed. Look at our receivers for example. Guidry was one of the top guys in JUCO and suddenly couldn’t catch a cold. Zuber was good at KState before coming here. Whop was highly thought of as well and he didn’t impress either.

Maybe the system would work under Brady because he would actually adapt it to our guys rather than forcing things to be one way like Moorhead.

I was thinking Venables from Clemson. I doubt John Cohen goes the Moorhead coaching tree route.

I wondered about Dave Aranda. I have seen his name brought up a few times. He is just as qualified as Grantham if not more so.

He is doing just what he wants to do now. I do not think he really wants to take on HC responsibilities.

If we're waiting on the national championship game for our guy, our guy is aranda. Brady too inexperienced and venables isn't coming.

I think the longer it goes on without an announcement, the better chance it is a coach from LSU

Supposedly. I never believed that, and he backed out right after it was made public. I suspect it was more UNLV making a hard push for him and him declining.

From a system standpoint, maybe. Again, perhaps he is more adaptable to his personnel than Moorhead and possibly a better fit personality wise as well. Lastly, maybe he instills more discipline in his players. Maybe not, but we don’t know the answer to these questions for certain.

I agree with the poster above that he is young and inexperienced so maybe not the best candidate for us. Just thought it was a name we haven’t heard really much about in all the rumors and also pointing out the system coaches run may not always be the problem at State. I believe the right coach can make a system work here, even if it hasn’t in the past or if is away from what we typically think of as MSU football. Adapting to the players is key.

Joe Brady = the first or second year coach who inherits a senior-laden midmajor and takes them on a run in March. Let's give him another year or two.

Yeah I doubt he goes the Brady route. More of the same. Hope we close the door on air raid and long developing passing game offenses. We don't have the players to run it and probably won't

I was wondering why Venables has not been mentioned this time around. He interviewed two years ago (allegedly). Did the interview go so poorly that he isn't even under consideration now?
