He is soft as is our football team, we will loose several recruits and I say let them go, we want kIds that want to play and make NU great not kids that want to play for a coach with no fire. Did anyone notice that he looked like a beat coach on the sidelines. He has got to go ASAP

Maybe he is doing the very best he can. It will all work out so why continue to kick the guy when he is down? I guess it makes some people feel better about themselves.

There are a few threads that repeat themselves in this board... get Frost here at all costs, fire Riley now or end of season, or give Riley more time.

Wonder which basket this thread belongs in?

Not sure why we have to start so many of the same threads... I scroll down and all I see are the same threads saying the same things. And if a thread starts differently, it’s only a matter of time before it morphs into one of the above.

it is probably very good for the HOL business

I wonder what is better for business as far as traffic on this sight .. losing or winning ?? Viewership likely reaches all time highs after huge losses, coach firings and coach hirings

The only positive I can think of is get better fan relations. Getting rid of the us vs them mentality that Bo instilled.

Lose not loose. Riley will be remembered for being a gentleman, nice guy and the opposite of his predecessor. I agree with you, we are pillow soft and need a balls to wall guy here ASAP.
You know, I am not sure if Riley will be remembered at all. I kind of think he will just fade away and in 20 years people will go "Oh man...I totally forgot about those 3 years under Riley"

Which one of our current players or commits would you say this to? That they don't want to make Nebraska great.

The thing that many fans don’t understand is that out of state players or players without an allegiance to Nebraska don’t have a “tie” to the university until they get there. They don’t come to a school to “make Nebraska great”. They decide on a college based on relationships with coaches and style of play etc. The making Nebraska great is a byproduct of their success not a reason for them to choose Nebraska.

The simple way to look at it is that players don’t look at things like fans do. When the average journalism student chose a school he didn’t think I am going to go to Mississippi St because I think I can make their journalism school great again. They chose Mississippi St because of a hundred other reasons.

His on the field results aren't good enough but quit acting like he's a POS. Mike Riley is everything we should want as a head coach, with better W/L results.

You people sucked off Pelini non-stop, even after he told the entire fan base to **** off. You sucked him off after he tried to get the Ohio State (understandable), Miami and Penn State openings. You sucked him off after he worried more about a message board poster on game day morning than the game itself against Texas. You sucked him off after he covered up the sexual assault from Morrow. You sucked him off after he covered up the numerous failed drug tests failed by Gregory. You sucked him off after he couldn't attend booster functions due to the detriment he caused (which is a reason Miles has had a longer leash). You sucked him off after he turned the team/program against the fan base. You sucked him off after he continually embarrassed this great University, football program, state and fan base. There's a crap ton more too.

Mike Riley hasn't cut it at Nebraska with his win-loss record. There's no other way of saying it. But to act like he hasn't done anything is a bunch of ******** and how anyone with power on this forum allows the continued attacks against a great man like Mike Riley is very disturbing. This fan base is better than that.

Get a fvcking grip, this place is out of control.

He certainly has provided a blueprint of how to get talent on campus either for officials or the summer camps. His social media team is very organized and hopefully Frost and Co find ways to continue to use these as an asset.

He has succeeded in putting a large portion of the fan base to sleep during his tenure. I literally slept through his first two seasons, then finally got excited after Eichorst was fired because I could see the light at the end of the tunnel. I never thought we’d see another hire as bad as Bill Callahan, but Eichorst outdid SP by a mile by signing a lifelong .500 coach. I still think we’ll somehow botch this Frost thing. It’s setup too perfectly.

That's a lot of fellatio Winking. I too have the same sentiments re Riley. He has a great demeanor. But it now seems as if the initial concerns about the staff he brought with him form Corvallis were valid with the exception of Bray. The Hughes hire was a swing and a miss.
Given his age and the fact that NU was going to be his last rodeo, Riley was going to be a transition coach, one who could improve the depth of talent and provide program stability. Maybe get a division title and some good bowls. But things don't look to be going in that direction and it's a shame.

I really think that is an over simplification. The reason people are upset is how we are losing not that we lost - although that matters also. Its getting pushed around its the sloppy play that is what is costing him his job. Of course that is contributing to the losses also.

He is a nice guy and has done some good things to be sure. Those good things are not stacking up against the poor play on the field

A good guy and the players liked him. Very respectful to the media and fans.

Hip hip hooray s after victories.

As far as cleaning up the image from Bo, I think that's a bit overrated. It's not like Bo left NU the same way that Joe Paterno left PSU. Had Bo beaten Wisconsin and won a conference championship or two, I'm convinced he would still be our coach.

I thought this was a reasonable post until this. Who's sucking who off?

I am sure he is a fine gentleman, but a great man? I'm sure that girl he let his team get away with raping all those years ago would agree now that he has gotten her some publicity. But, I am not sure I would go so far as calling him a great man in a post I accuse people of "sucking off" another man.

You might want to do a little more research before posting in the future.

Yeah, not sure how much research you expect me to do. I'm good.
Do what you want, you asked her name, I told you. Do you still think he "let his team get away with raping her"? You did read the charges against the players were dropped, right?

The one thing I did notice about Mike Riley was that he looked as yellow as a lemon; as in jaundice. I guess the rest of us could be pretty yellow right now too, because when I watch this team I want to drink heavily.
