That is correct. Spoke to someone in operations and they said they estimated 15-16k. During the lightning delays, people would leave and then just shoulder crowded and rushed the gates upon reopening without getting scanned.
I will also add that while we were checking in, they encouraged me to only scan 1 of my 3 tickets to keep the line moving and i said no and proceeded to scan them all.
So it was definitely underreported
