He is coaching one of the most fertile recruiting areas- even cities- and in a division he could win. I think that would be a tough pull

Has not beaten 2 ranked teams this year. He is 1-5 and has a loss to the citadel. Wasn’t expected to do much with that roster though (when systems change the old players do not fit- especially when going from the option to anything else resembling modern football). I’d keep an eye on him though. Also joe will get next year and I’d be surprised if things weren’t trending up by then.

I like Collins but at this point I would prefer Bill Clark at UAB. He just

seems to be a hard working competent guy and that's what we need.

Honest question: what have you seen that makes you feel this way?

It would be hard for it to get much worse. It could stay this bad I suppose but he figured it out everywhere else he has been. Surely he is working on some kind of plan. I would not be surprised if we only win one or two more games this year.

OK, if so, I misunderstood. I thought he was talking about Moorhead.

Collins has nowhere to go but up, and he build a winning program at Temple so I think he will do fine there.

The “everywhere else he’s been” is only one other place as a head coach. And it was nothing close to the level of competition of the SEC.

Delete this thread. The OP was clearly confused thinking he was talking about the Temple coach since Temple is doing well. Geoff Collins and Georgia Tech however are dogshit and he should never be considered for the HC job here.

You do realize that Collins built Temple, right? You do realize that this is his first year at Georgia Tech, and he is starting at ground zero there, right?

They had two 10-4 seasons before he arrived. Al Golden was really the first person in a long time to have any success there. I would probably give him more credit for turning them around than anybody.
