As someone who has watched Mullen pretty much be a spectator in these types of games it was awesome to see a State team come out against Bama and actually look competitive. Our guys, and the coaches, gave everything they had tonight and that’s all I can ask. They left it all on the field. I think going for the field goal all gave us that feeling we knew was coming. Bama is the Floyd Mayweather of CFB. They will watch you wear your *** out chasing them around the field and win the match in the final rounds. The trick is building enough of a comfortable lead that it protects the late game surge they will always have.
