Love the kids game and when you see him in person he looks big. I know he is big, but seeing him was completely different for me. I hope he is not overlooked with all the talent that is around him. It appears that MBIII and G are going to get their shots and are top priorities as they should be. However, i really hope Carter gets his touches from the FT line in and gets a chance to square his defender up. Dont challenge and he shoots right over you. Challenge, and let him work that spin move and jump hook. Really like his game and he seems to have the most polished inside game of all our bigs.

Bagley and Carter both have excellent BBall IQs and seeing the ball movement and post passing is a thing of beauty from these guys, out side of the post moves and defense. Man we are a force down low. LOVE IT!

He has great hands as well! I knew he was going to be good but I honestly didn't think he would be this good this soon

Yeah, agreed with everyone above... such a nice mix of IQ, size, hands, touch... everything.

As of right now he’s my favorite player on the team. Something about an old school post player that I love. A player like that rarely has bad nights and you can always count on them to get you easy baskets when you’re struggling. You don’t get that in college or the nba anymore. Not to mention he can run, pass, play defense, and attack rebounds. He’s an athletic Okafor. If we didn’t have Bagley he would be averaging about 28 and 12 right now easily

Carter is going to make much of the competition feel like high school jv players. He is a man amongst little boys on the court.

I am not saying this to be fashionable, Wendell Carter has more skill than Marvin on the block or perimeter. Bagley hit the genetic lottery and has a nice skillset, its just Wendell has a PRO level back to basket game.

I may change my mind as the season goes on, but right now I would take Bagley hands down, but I do love Carters game as well.

Unfortunately, the pro level back to the basket game doesn’t hardly exist anymore....which is one of the reasons Jahlil is having a tough go of it right now.

Also, I love everything about Wendell, but I can’t buy him being more skilled than Marvin.

Both are beasts and will have lucrative careers at the next level. Both are very good at what they bring to the floor. I will just enjoy the time we have them wearing a Duke Uniform and not worry who has the best game for the next level.

Carter has more than just that though. He can bang and he can shoot pretty good. Plus he can play defense. Jahlil couldn’t defend. That’s the difference.

If you watched after fouls and during dead balls, it seemed like the MSU bigs were really trying to get into his head. The thing I liked most was that the more they jawed, the tougher he played. I liked that response.

Yes it was great to see Carter battle back in the second half. This was on the job training for our freshman. In the first half they were getting shots blocked that you could tell had never happened to them before. But they responded. Vrank just impresses me every time I see him, so solid. Javin was so active and after hitting that big 3 no one should ever refer to Goldwire as a 3 star again. And Grayson was the difference. So happy right now.

Great post. Every championship caliber team has a good point guard, good leader and a force down low.
It's early, but Duke has all 3 covered. Then throw in a freak like Bagley.
If K can keep the boys hungry and Allen is what we think he will be, then Duke is going to be a nightmare for their opponents.

Everyone talking about his offensive game...but his ability to defend, block shots, and rebound is what is really an asset to this team...he was huge last night defensively..especially with Bagley out and foul trouble..

Thank you sir. I neglected to mention Duval, who must have had a dozen points on layups. He really pushes the tempo. He has a gift for seeing seams in the defense. I'm going to dub him Precision T. :)
