This is actually very welcome good news. It means Rhule knows his job is on the line and that the honeymoon with Husker fans is over. He knows that Satterfield is not getting the job done. It will be interesting to see if any changes are made in the next two weeks. My guess is that we will see some new wrinkles on offense against USC.

lots of really smart football people have nothing else to do in early Nov, I'm sure

lol, this is an admission that he doesn't know what to do..

Now in some ways, that is smart to say. Nobody generally beats up a guy who admits he doesn't have all the answers.. they will beat up the guy who pretends to know it all.

The main reason why I still don't like what he is saying here, is most Nebraskans can see that the OC is a problem. And Rhule seems to stand by his guys.. so in a way, he's being sneaky and avoiding the obvious elephant in the room, and that's why I call bs on what he's saying here.

These last 3 or 4 games it seems to me that Raiola has placed too much pressure on himself and that the coaches have too, making things worse. It has caused him to play too cautiously. I hope he can recover his sense of having fun out there again and to just play football and let his instincts go.

Listen to TO. Have Ron Brown teach receivers how to block.

It's November with multi million dollar staff and we gotta bring in outside eyes??

Sounds like everyone is in over their heads 🙄

This suggests that further employment at N beyond this season is questionable. I don’t believe postseason termination is a reasonable possibility no matter how the team finishes re:W-L.

This sounds like Kirk Ferentz saying “we will look at the film”. We won’t do anything about it, but we will look at it.

That was my initial thought as well. Anything short of Satt being replaced during the bye week seems like a fancy sidestep to avoid addressing the issue.

Replacing coordinators mid-season is far from ideal, and yeah, fans always clamor for the offensive coordinator’s job when things go sideways, but good Lord, when it’s this obvious?? This is Brian Ferentz blindness and stubbornness without the familial ties. Not sure why Oklahoma, UCF, etc can replace coordinators and we can’t, other than Nebraska proving once again that we’re a non-serious program.

“We’re a non-serious program” truer words have never been spoken before on this board.

The last paragraph is a 101 on how to throw your players under the bus.

Edit: here’s the paragraph because it doesn’t show the whole thing on the twitter link.

"This is probably the first time you guys have heard me say: The players have to play. They have to play. They can't just say 'well, did you read what they're saying about Satt?' You are Satt. You are the offense. You're out on the field."

Nebraska is the biggest dumbass in CFB. For once I want to see a huge contract that says, for each season you dont make a bowl game, your guarantee drops by 50%

But they didn't call the stupid plays. Just let them call it in the huddle and backs sub out when they're tired

There will always be games where one side of the ball has a bad day... The defense had theirs for the 3rd time this year and that's when a good team with a good offense would normally step up to get through it... this team however, has not had an offense worth a crap going on for how many years now??? The ineptitude of the offense forced the already struggling Defense on Saturday to keep going out there over and over again... this is the same crap year after year and now we have a coach who can't see it for himself and is going to spend money to bring in "experts" to help... WTF! Nebraska is literally the laughing stock of P4

Ffs equivalent to a corporation bringing in an outside firm to look at the companies failures before they have to file for bankruptcy. Ie. (Fire Rhule). Ridiculous

It’s just a BS, non-answer. Every program does this, so he’s not actually doing anything they wouldn’t already be doing. He basically just not answering the question.

Hope so, I said the same thing going into the Indiana game. Thought we see a few new things on offense, but I don’t really remember anything much. Granted I didn’t have the stomach to rewatch that debacle…

I had a landscape construction business for over 25 years. I would enter my designs and installations into competitions to help see my flaws with outside eyes (three judges per entry). It hurt to see some of the remarks and criticisms, but I was too close to the flames to see the fire. Once I swallowed my pride and licked my wounds I got better as a designer and an installer. (I did win some awards)

I am sure Ruhle is too close to fire. Hopefully he accepts the critiques and implements what he hears. It takes courage and faith in your system to accept criticism. Smart move.

Yeah. Dumbest thing I've heard come out of his mouth since he's been here.

Then do your job as a HC, get the team ready to play and get rid of your idiot OC and try to make the team better instead of preaching.

Can’t run the ball to control the game, or WONT (or even try) do it????? Your problem is your OC, you don’t need to bring in outside experts to give you that obvious answer…
"Not an excuse, but we’ve had three straight teams coming off a Bye throwing different packages at us"

- Rhule, whose team has also had a bye week to prepare different packages to throw at opponents and instead got beat 56-7

Someone posted on social media that Tom Osborne would make adjustments on the fly. It took a whole half to make adjustments on offense. During the 3rd quarter I thought exactly what was posted about the multitude of staff and assistants etc
He needs to take a look at everyone on that side of the ball. From the start this season, you had to have a good run game to support Raiola and his development. The commitment to the run game to me almost feels Frost-esque. This is a soft offense with a charmin soft OC. You thought you could win with some transfer WRs, a dynamic freshman WR, a blue chip QB?. The lack of run game is an embarrassment and indictment against the whole staff and Rhule.
