I think he’s gone at the end of the season if not beforehand. The 💩show is just starting and will be full blown dysentery as the calendar turns to a new year. 🤮

You can see him getting one more year after this IF we can develop any of these freshman(we are young) as the focus will be on Womens basketball first

Keli really has her work cut out for her though as our major revenue sports are not looking good. Two stubborn coaches who will not change their ways. I pray we beat Penn State

No way. He's gone. He may even walk on his own.

What coach walks away from guaranteed money?? None

He is a lame duck though considering the outside view he couldn't win with two NBA Top 5 talents last year and than losing to a non-P4 program the way they did tonight. What top players would even want to come here? I know $$ talks but we have short arms and deep pockets and a coach who hasn't changed a thing over the years to evolve.

I just dont see a change unless big donors step up

Agreed but i don’t think Pike even w big donors can coach at this level. He had major talent last year and squandered it away.

Great guy and coach at a lower level.

Keli let’s act like a true BIG program. Time to clean house

I couldn't agree more with you...apathy has set in for me and I would like to see a change..I just don't see RU making a move with that big of a buyout and trying to get their NIL fund in order for the future

You wither go get a young up and coming coach in here you take a chance on and pray you hit the lottery or if Rutgers was truly smart they go out and make a big time hire of a coach (WHEN HAVE WE EVER HAD THAT HERE????) to show that we are truly serious about winning.

He will be a multi-year lame duck. I'm not even certain he gets fired next year with another disaster season after this year's rock bottom. We are stuck with possibly the worst HC in power conference basketball of the NIL era

This is one of the dumbest comments I see all the time by fans. You wouldn't walk away from millions in guaranteed money but you expect a coach to do so.
I guess Pike will hold us hostage even though he’s an absolute disgrace to the athletic department. The fact that he came back for this year shows he has no interest in being successful and is just collecting a pay check.

This is how it started with Jordan too. Many didn’t believe what a horrible coach he was and then the momentum became too much and he was gone. If the new AD isn’t the same old bs, they will figure out a way if the season goes as many expect (including myself). Every year of this nonsense cause exponential damage.
This roster has arguably one B1G rotational player in Grant. Almost all of the rest of the roster is mid-major, and no way even Grant sticks around next year if the team has 10 wins. Pike is a developmental coach in a NIL world (i.e., a dinosaur). Loading up on marginal B1G freshmen instead of transfers makes zero sense. The offense is remedial. One top of that, we have a NIL issue he and has already proven he can’t get real transfers, and can’t even win with 2 lottery picks.

Look I want Pike fired as much as the next guy but can we be fair to him at least. He took a program that was in the absolute gutter and he built it up to the point that we had four straight tournament caliber teams (2020-2021, 2021-2022, 2022-2023, 2023-2024) and recruited and developed some of the most beloved players for this generation of fans (Ron, Geo, Caleb). His tenure has run its course but He is nothing like Eddie Jordan. Thanks for the memories Pike enjoy your millions and millions of dollars in your dotage.

There were plenty of us that saw it long before NIL destroyed the game. hes just a crappy game day coach who has missed more than he's made on the recruiting side too. Season after season to fix and make changes on the offensive side and got the APC to boot.

He’s still making 3.5 million to put out this mess..probably an 18th place finish in an 18-team league. He was compensated for his past success with his ridiculous contract extension. He is owed nothing. It’s a business and he’s a rich man. People making much less lose their jobs everyday while being more successful. His success was in the past when the rules of the game were different. I like Pike as a person and becaue he runs a clean program but he doesn’t deserve more than he’s already gotten for one NCAA tournament victory in 10 years.

Lol no joke....he isn't walking away for free! But, I get the sense that the guy would like to retire sooner rather than later. He doesn't need the money. Could agree to leave for less.

I know and I want him fired too. But I could say that while acknowledging the things he did accomplish. Eddie Jordan accomplished absolutely nothing

I agree he’s better than Jordan and has accomplished more, and has a higher character. Jordan was never a good college coach and Pike once was when the rules were different.

I actually think you are both agreeing with each other....its not a $$$ problem

I saw a ton of ISO ball tonight(typical) yet without a Harper/Ace

I saw high PnR (typical) without Mulcahy/Cliff
For sure, I'm frustratedly agreeing lol

They both suck and any other power 4 team would have fired Pike and Greg by now .
I’m not gonna sit here and pretend Schiano is Belichick, but you’ll easily end up with an Ash level coach if you fired GS with our current NIL situation.
He’s also the only one who went out and raised NIL funds to retain players. No coach with a promising career would take this job if GS was shown the door this year.
