Never want to concede, but not gonna be upset if the tigers win tomorrow. But here are a couple things that need to happen over the next few days:

- Return of the Mac. Need him full go come regional time. Also heal up any bumps or bruises anyone else has
- Jake finds a healthy gal with loose morals at ricks and takes her home.
- We film review all the balls we chased in the dirt for strikeouts, then we burn the film
- If there is any complacency or “burnout”, which I don’t think there is, get rid of it. Watch film of past Msu teams that made it to Omaha, but did not bring home the hardware and get 17’ing hungry.

Speaking of our seeding, it would actually be nice for Ole Miss to knock off Arkansas tomorrow. Hurts their RPI and prevents UGA/Ark from playing each other. The national 3 is still within our grasp.

Losing these games is not a big deal. Looking lost at the plate for the past 26 innings is the concern.

26 innings? We had 18 hits Thursday night and scored 6 runs. Oh and we won the game. We faced a really good pitcher last night who was on his game. You tip your cap and move on. Y’all calm down my god

Agree. Best 2 offensive teams in the SEC but we just had a lot of great pitching yesterday, helped by a very inconsistent umpire with a huge strike zone at times. I'm not worried at all about either us or Vandy scoring runs in the NCAA tournament.

That was 18 hits over nearly 2 games worth of innings so nothing to write home about. The bigger concern is not the lack of hits but the number of unproductive outs via the strikeout. Right now we have way too many hitters up and down the lineup chasing after bad pitches. Seems if you start a ball at the knees and break it down into the dirt we will go after it pretty much every time.

We had 18 hits and 6 runs in the equivalent of two games, and were held scoreless for 12 straight innings. I’m not all that worried, but you are omitting some pretty key facts from that LSU game. 18 hits in 17 innings is not some super special accomplishment.

Yes, we looked lost in both games. It shouldn't have taken us 9 innings to score 2 runs (one unearned) against Hess and McPhail (or whatever his name is). They have struggled all year. Walker was horrible Wednesday and we could not knock him out of the game.

Fellows is 11-0 based on how awesome is offense is. Coming in to the game, he had an ERA over 4. With the exception of one start, he has given up runs in every game. His last 5 starts over the past month he has an ERA over 6. Gave up 7 runs to South Carolina and 5 to Kentucky. Again, a pitcher that has really been struggling who we made look like Cy Young. Based on stats alone, we have four starters better than Fellows. We don't, but Small and Ginn are better than Fellows. We did not face Ethan Small last night or even a Ginn.

It's simply an observation. It doesn't mean we won't score 10 against LSU today. But yes, we have not looked good the last two days at the plate. And yes, it's concerning because, over the last 6 games, Mangum, Westberg, and Skelton are now batting .125, .200, and .192.

Bottom line is that this is the worst our offense has looked all season. Anybody not seeing that is not looking at things objectively. Mangum doesn't usually slump like this against any level of pitching and we've got other guys like Skelton, Westburg and Jordan that are all looking anemic at the plate right now.

Also, a couple of big issues from last night especially. Hoover is a pitchers park for whatever reason and not just because it's big. There were 13 runs scored yesterday total in 4 games. Also, the umpire I think was a big factor. He was very inconsistent with his strike zone. At times, he would call the close pitch just off the plate a ball, then call a pitch 3 inches further off the plate a strike. That's got to be real tough on hitters when they can't know what's a strike and what's not.
