Second in PFF grade for returning B1G LBs. Sure, it was the Sunbelt conference, but the dude was defensive player of the year and had 120 tackles. I think we can all agree that that’s a lot of tackles.

Not that the second level was a bunch of scrubs last year, but the group this year is just better. Trent is a better than even swap for Bullock, MaGahee and Shavers played well as freshman, and the duo of J Wright and McCullough are freakishly athletic.

Our linebacking corps is our best group.

We get a stud pass rusher and a stud pursuit guy out of this group and we will win more games. I think shavers is our pursuit guy.

My hope is that our defensive line is a pleasant surprise and Watson-Trent plays at an All Big 10 level.

I'd like to see our D step it up a bit in TOs. I think we'll see a step back in YPG and PPG but if they can set the O up better with more TOs, I'm hopeful that will suffice.
