Wrong is not the word here, ridiculous fits. There are no teams in the same P4 conference 40 points better than a conference mate.
Ridiculous huh? I guess you slept through the years Eddie Jordan coached Rutgers in the Big 10. Lost to Purdue in 2015-16 by 50. Not 40, but lost another Big 10 game that year by 39. Duke had 4 conference wins last year by more than 35 and a win over Illinois by more than 40. It doesn't happen often but it does happen.

It's not 2016. If you think the gap between Rutgers and conference teams in 2025 is the same as 2016 you need to turn in your reporter credentials. Consider reporting for your old HS newsletter.

You basically said teams can't beat teams in their own conference by 40 points and I showed you where they can. You didn't specify this year or just Rutgers. And why are you making such a big deal about this. My point was only they'll probably beat the crap out of us, especially at their place. We'll lose a game this year by 35+. And I'm an ex hs/college coach of 30 years. I don't do reporting. So take your "old HS newsletter" comment and shove it.

You did not say we could lose a game by 25 or 35+ this year. Blowout loses happen to a few teams in the B1G every year.

Word usage matters. Winning or losing a few games by 35 is different from "being 40 points better" than a team. No one would make a ridiculous statement that Duke was 40 points better than Illinois as a team last year. It's a 1 game outcome.
We’re scared of Purdue now? We’ve beaten them as #1 a couple times including at their place with scrappy teams like this. Our team that lost to UMass and Lafayette a couple months later beat #1 Purdue. I also remember Jacob Young dunking Matt Haarms out of the Big Ten. Anything’s possible in Big Ten basketball. We’re much more likely to lose by 40 to a team that’s a historical bad matchup for us, like Illinois
You can make any statement you want but if you look at history that statement seems odd. Purdue is the one consistently good team along with Michigan that Rutgers plays well against since Pike has taken over. Beating them as #1 at home you might consider a fluke but beating them on the road when they were #1 the following year is no fluke. They have had elite centers and shooters but otherwise not so much. Then Braden Smith comes along and they are even better. The key to making it a game is JMike has to have the defensive game of his life picking up Smith full court and being in his jock all night. Harass and annoy and maybe frustrate Smith and anything is possible. It is likely Purdue will win handily but history doesn’t suggest that will happen.
It might not be that bad. Purdue sometimes gets the yips when they play NJ teams.
Saying a team is a certain amount of points better than another team is a common expression among players, coaches and sports gamblers. It does not mean you would win by that number every time you played them. I assumed you knew that.

In fairness, we were saying it was the center position after game one. Weve only played lower level teams, but at least against them, we seem to have different guys who step up different days.
I don’t think Francis’ success or lack of success so far has anything at all to do with his height or the level of the defense. He’s just a streaky scorer. I think he’ll have his moments like vs Rider where he looks like the best player on the floor. We need that to happen in a few of our reach games to maybe steal a couple wins over teams with more talent than us.
Nope, that's what you always do, push your narrative of bs. I defended and always will the well known concept of not convicting anyone,any coach ,any player until proven "guilty". Anyone can read your posts during a game and even after where you attack and make definitive statements about anyone or anything without proven facts-- they're guilty cause you say so. Because he does it all the time. Have you read many positive opinions ,which by the way he presents as fact, about anything to do with RU? And by the way he's often very wrong and bs's to make those negative posts --- like I don't take my phone when I go to pee, I'm not renewing my season tickets and you shouldn't either ,I've given up on college sports due to NIL or RU losing.. Like I'll say over and over again ,with friends like that RU doesn't need enemies. Worst of all he goes out of his way to attack RU.
You've got an anti Rutgers derangement syndrome . You're the worst .So when are you giving up on college sports and your RU season tickets ? You can't cause your life won't be the same without disparaging players, coaches and the school some of us really support,in good or bad times.
