Yeah I agree, was saying the same thing to my daughter on the ride home - THEY WILL LEARN FROM THIS.

We weren’t ready for the big stage, and SJU was.

It was a reality check. They'll learn and continue to play hard.

Even with the loss, it was more fun than football.

What are the lessons they learn? Not sure anyone learns from this one but Pikiell.

Who would have thought the basketball team would lose and the football team would win this weekend.
I’ll take the split.

Every time you play particularly when you get you’re *** kicked you learn. The players will learn infinitely more than Pike from this.

It think you maybe meant then? Were you trying to say something?
No, its "than", not "then". Re-read the sentence structure.

My point was, if you only really learn lessons by losing, then we have really learned a **** ton of lessons in both sports since joining the Big Ten. Waiting for the impact.

I think Pike will learn too. Tonight, his defensive game plan to back off of SJU’s speedy guards to stop dribble penetration backfired. We gave them too much room to shoot, they got comfortable and then literally buried us from 3 point land. I thought we might change strategies after the half, but we continued to dare them to shoot 3s and they made them.

The stupid comparisons to the football team from people and posts from this guy are already getting old.

People need to get a clue.

WTF where is there any mention of football In “what are the lessons they learn? Not sure anyone learns from this one but Pikiell”.

You’re nutso man

there is so much wrong with this post

I think Pikiell learned a lot about his rotations, and that he can’t trot Shaq out against a team playing small ball. I know you would agree.

Would love you know what lessons the players learned?

I know you didn’t post the following sentiment but some people are saying it was a burn the tape type of loss. There are conflicting views here, as always, but typically those types of games are viewed simply as bad performances by the individuals playing.

It’s my personal opinion that not much will be learned other than Pikiell.

Quoted my post so I thought you were talking about me. Usually when someone quotes a post theh respond to the quote first and then go off on a tangent. But I see now. Thanks for clarifying.

SJU playing like that is a mirage. The BE is terrible and they will win some games, but they will not shoot that well the rest of the year. They were banking in 3’s for crying out loud.

SJU shot great and they will not shoot a better percentage all year, but they have real talent and are capable of beating very good teams. BTW, are Chris Mullen and Mitch Richmond working pro bono? I’m betting the transfers from South Carolina, Auburn, Arizona, Michigan State, and Mississippi State are being paid more than Mullen and Richmond, or at least getting the Felipe Lopez housing allowance.
