Thanks for all of you that post the Game thread
Those of you that are hard core know I am am mostly a "lurker"
In general I don't watch -I know longer go to games
For a long time I lived a block away from 3 generations of Leakes-as it turns out I knew Pam the least
But the Women's team is in my sprit
This thread is my way to keep up
Thanks
More score updates would be cool

Thanks Carolina151 for all the hard work you do for this site. It is much appreciated.

We need to beat dook at home on Sr. Night and make a good run in the ACC Tournament.

I think the way we are playing we can beat dook and WIN the ACC Tournament.

Keep bringing it Girls !

We moved up one spot to 17 in the NET. A 20+ point win might have been enough to get us into the top 16. A win Sunday should get us a host spot, unless we lose our first game in the ACC tourney. While a 2nd round upset could change our opponent in the quarterfinals, as of today we are looking at facing one of Syracuse, ND, Clemson, VT or Virginia. They are all currently tied for 5th, and we will play the 6 vs 11 seed winner.

Agree. We are up to #16 in the WAB rankings too- the newest tool used by the selection committee:

I don't see NET Ranked #16 Kentucky nor #20 Ole Miss here? I assume you feel we are already ahead of them but they could certainly outpace if they stack some wins.

Unless they can upset top 5 teams at home, #21 10rC (vs #5 Vandy) and Kentucky (vs #1 UofSC) are both going to finish .500 in the SEC at 8-8. Ole Miss has a little easier game with #63 aTm to close the season so probably going to finish 9-7

They are all three kind of locked up with #35 UGA as the 7 through 10 seeds in the SEC tournament. So again, assuming no major upsets this week, two of those four teams will have an early loss in the SEC tournament because someone has to lose.

So hoping for a Kentucky (4-7 in Q1, 3-1 Q2) loss in the SEC quarters so we can pass them, and an Ole Miss (4-7 Q1, 3-2 Q2) loss so they have no chance of a deep run.

Correct.

-Kentucky NET 16; 21-8 (going to be 21-9 with an L to SC Sunday). An L Sunday puts them at 8-8 in the SEC, even a win just a hair over .500. Just 7-8 Q1/Q2 wins vs our 10. 20th in WAB. 8-5 road
-Ole Miss: 21-9; going to be 8-8 or 9-7 in the SEC. 7-7 Q1/Q2; 3.92 WAB vs our 5.23; 4-6 road

Committee is putting a huge emphasis on WAB based on their initial Top 16.

and I will add.... is the committee really going to take a .500 or 9-7 SEC over a 13 or 14 win ACC or Big 12 team and give them a host? barring an SECT run to the title game.

I fear the committee might be made up of espn types in love with the SEC and dook.
The ACC (dook included) had put themselves in a hole with their horrible non conference record (11-41) against the other three P4 conferences and the Big East. It Carolina, Dook and Louisville to go close to and double digit winning streaks in the conference just be in position to be able to host.

The today's updated bracketology still has Carolina as a 5th seed.

Last night win guarantees back to back single digit losing seasons for Carolina. The last time that happened was in 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 seasons.

The SEC is heads above the ACC this year. They are beating each other to death and still have five of the top seven in the AP Poll. All of those five are beating our conference champion at this point in the season in my opinion.

Another great win. So glad we were able to be there in person to cheer our WBB Heels on! And, needed some tissues for the presentation of flowers from Gabby White to her Momma, Coach Jo. We seem to be catching all of our February teams on their #PlayForKay game days. The more attention we can bring to cancer research, the researchers and the survivors the better!
