I was hoping the announcement would have come yesterday, in time for homecoming which I’m skipping this year.
I didn't go to a game last year because of COVID. I skipped last Friday and won't go this Friday. And probably won't go the rest of the season or until a change is made with the head coach. That's the only way to get the message through to TU something has to be done, and it needs to be done now. It's sad that our best WR (Naylor) hardly gets to play because there are seniors on the team. Same with some of the OL. Tyler Smith is the only holdover starter from last season who deserves his spot. Jaden Muskrat isn't playing and should (sorry Chris Paul). We need to find a center who can actually get the ball to the QB on the snap. It's tiring having to rail on these same things over and over. And Gillespie is calling his defenses differently this season instead of staying aggressive. Yeah, we don't have Zaven but there is a ton of talent on the field and we're playing bail coverages on the corner giving 10 yds of cushion on 3rd and 5. The coaches don't trust the players they're putting out there and it shows in the play calling on both sides.
Naylor does seem to be a real talent that doesn't get enough game time, and our offensive line does not seem to have any experience or cohesion in spite of their having been together for as long as they have. Discipline is horrendous and our special teams are "special" in the short bus sense.
My buddy and I were talking about this at the game last week. He deserves more playing time.

For some reason I had in my mind Homecoming was screwed up because we were playing a late Friday night game. TBH, I can't go on Saturday as I'll be in Houston for soccer games. Which sucks. Houston Sucks.
As my mother used to say - Wichita can go to hell and Houston can go straight to hell.
I’m also not going Friday. Not sure about Saturday. There was one time we played a game on Sunday. But we didn’t look like a team that has players playing on Sunday. What I mean by that was we weren’t very good that year.
TU also isn’t very good this year even though they have played games on Friday and Saturday. They never play games on Sunday. That’s like Jim’s Never on Sunday, which I miss because it was delicious.
But TU losing isn’t delicious, even if it’s on Friday or Saturday. Or Sunday. Which they one time stunk it up on. By that I mean they weren’t very good. As in bad.
I mean, they’re so bad that they might as well not play, like what happened last week. And if that’s the case, we might as well not go. And so not going on Friday is the same as not going on Saturday. Or Sunday. Because the result will be the same. Just like when we used to give the ball to Brooks 65 times a game until he got hurt. And then we’d get the ball to someone else and the same thing happened.
And all of these things are things that happened. Or didn’t happen. But not on Sunday. Except for that one time.

Was there to see the Palomino Express beat Earnest Anderson and OSU. Great game. Jimmy Johnson was OSU's coach. You know that stuck in his craw.
Ted Turner had a Sunday night game on his station for a while. This was way before the NFL took the time slot.
The OSU game was homecoming that year.
