Yes some pick and roll but a lot of iso and Claude broke them down time after time for 31 points. Won a 2 point made bucket game as hardly shot threes. Committed to rebounding and outrebounded Illinois the top rebounding team in the country. Simply gave great effort and hustle nothing more.

Mussleman is a good coach. He’ll have USC near the top of the league in a couple years.

Today's game and the Elite 8 game last year vs UConn and Illinois losing in the Round of 32 to Loyola Chicago are consistent reminders that coaching matters. I like Brad Underwood as a person and he tends to not find ways to adjust in games.

Considering how much Illinois invests in NIL and recruiting, today's game is a reminder why the B1G doesn't get respected enough on a National level. If you can lose this game after beating Penn State the other night by almost 40 points, there's no way any sane Illinois fan can trust Underwood in a tournament.

Agree..no excuse..they thought they could just show up and win

After they went on a run to go at half they should have been able to win going away.

This type of performance is why Big 10 wont have any 1 seeds...and possibly no 2s..lets see what Mich St Mich and Oreg do

I know this is a USC / Illinois thread but incredible game tonight between Alabama and Texas A&M with Alabama pulling it out. Now A&M has been without Wade Taylor tonight and their last game as well where they came from 18 points down on the road to beat Oklahoma.

The SEC is so loaded that 3 game losing streaks are going to happen to good teams. The Big 10 is a notch or two below but 3 game losing streaks will happen to good teams as well.

two really good teams. And to think Rutgers could’ve beaten Alabama and should’ve beaten A&M.

Forgot to mention , 55 ridiculous fouls were called in the game and Texas A& M shot 28-48 missing 20 and Alabama was 27-40 missing 13 from the foul line . Both teams missed and also took a ton of foul shots (88) . That is 3-4 games worth for a lot of teams . A&M extra 7 misses cost them the game as they lost by 6.

Those two games have been the highlight of the season so far.The problem even in those games was the failure to sustain high level performance at both ends of the court in the last four minutes .

The reality is that with the level of depth in this confrenxe , you need a lot of depth to just be physically able to avoid let downs

Mentally ??? Completely different story …lot of teams handling more travel than ever ….and lot of roster have a lot of new pcs, sone of which not used to this type of travel and this type of grind

It would be better for us to see a real division between top, middle and bottom with where we are now , but the reality is, expect a massive recession to the mean and most, if not all, bwtween 14-6 and 6-14…….

Yes very deep conference and with parody all over the place it’s hard to think 10 teams make the dance… but possible
