3 rushing TDs, 2 passing TDs for USC. I didn't even know the game was on last night. Anybody watch? Comments?

I watched a little after the WS game. USC looked like Indiana against NU - moving the ball at will, with the defense powerless to stop it.

I watched the entire game. Was very competitive until their starting RB went down. Then the floodgates were open. USC were letting underneath stuff with curl routes all day.

Indiana is better than USC.

Regardless, the brainlets who said USC should fire Riley when he’s:

1) undefeated against Rhule, and will remain so for years
2) capable of beating ranked teams
3) capable of firing his buddies in pursuit of being a more serious team

should get a better grip on the reality of where they, a brand new conference member, stand in relation to us.

Rutgers answered after half to make it 20-28 but USC just kept pulling away

It was 28-20 in the 3rd quarter. Rutgers moved the ball. Up till the rb getting hurt they were in that game. But huskers fans can't help but be miserable, so of course USC is unbeatable and Nebraska should just forfeit the game.

So hey. We've got that to look forward to.....
Depends on which USC team shows up. They're very hard to figure out and bet on (or against). They definitely have top tier talent but just seem to fall asleep at times on defense

Rutgers sucks

USC -14 was never in doubt
Us barely beating Rutgers was such a warning sign of things to come and a good coaching staff would have done a complete overhaul during the bye week. But, they rested on beating 4 of the worst teams in college football and Colorado for 1 half. I don't know what is the worst part of the curse, losing more than any other team or having to play Rutgers, Indiana, Purdue every season...and regularly lose to them.

As stated above, USC moved the ball at will against Rutgers’ defense. Rutgers’ linebackers ard DBs didn’t have the speed to stop the USC running backs and receivers.. Rutgers did move the ball on USC at times, which kept USC from scoring more.

They have great playmakers but like us they are not strong in the trenches so it gets sloppy. USC can be beat but make you look silly at the same time.

USC wont fire Riley because they can't afford to do so.

It seems like USC has been much better at home this year, even though the stadium is half empty. Rutgers also couldn’t have loved traveling across the country to play at 11 PM their time on a Friday.

I said in another thread that USC is a different team at home. In 4 home games, they've scored:
48 against Utah State, 38 against Wisconsin, 30 against Penn State and 42 against Rutgers.

I kept thinking it looks like Hartzog matches up well with their 6'6" WR. USC is gonna score points on NU and if our offense is still in the toilet, its gonna be a loss.

USC has a lot of holes, but so does NU.

Half empty? More like 90%.

Wasn't really that close. Was 28-9 at halftime after Rutgers kicked a field goal with 9 seconds left. Rutgers then scored on 2 drives in a row to start the 3rd to make it one score then USC pulled away again.

I said if NU's offense is still in the toilet it will be a loss.
Our brand has been non-existent for 2 decades.
If the OSU game was in Lincoln today, the stands would likely be half empty by halftime.

It's pretty on brand for husker fans to wave the white flag for a game that's 3 weeks away based off the score of a game played last night.

Irony. You using the term "us" to describe the Huskers.

Bro, UNL is actually my alma mater. Most fans on here bandwagoned when we were the greatest of all time. At least I spent money on the University and have multiple degrees and still have dealings there. That is why I get so pissed off. I know of the incompetence and fear in that place.

Yes. There isn’t room for nuance in most fans little brains. We are either doomed to lose every game or destined to be great. No discussion in the middle.
What makes the current situation different is we have no kicking game and no return game, no running game, and no down-field passing game. We can't control the ball and we can't control field position and we can't get 3rd or 4th and short and we have problems protecting while punting. And the injury gods are likely to strike us at some point since we have been relatively injury free. We have one of the worst OCs in the game statistically, a true freshman qb with no confidence, and the worst special teams in the sport. It isn't like we are middle of the road...we are the worst in multiple phases of the game. And the defense obviously isn't all world.

Not saying you don't. But here we are in a game with OSU and the general consensus around here is that were gonna get blown out in game 3 weeks out.
Its now after the fact and we couldn't hold on and win. This entire team shot a huge wad today and I''m guessing they are gonna be flatter than a pancake agains UCLA next week. Its a must win game to make the 6 wins a reality. The biggest upside of this game is NU MAY have found a kicker who can be a huge factor in the last 4 games.

The mentality leading into the UCLA game will be, "we just have to win today and then we get a week off." A recipe for a less focused effort from a team that spent 100% physical and mental focus today.

Most here thought they'd get dog walked today. They didn't. Every game in last quarter of the season is winnable.
