Speaking of long snappers, has anyone else heard that Feld sustained a detached retina as a result of Carlson hitting him with that football? I knew he was hurt bad enough to miss some games but rumor has it that his career is over. Anyone else heard that?

Well, I will say that the Hebrew Howitzer has done a good job for us, until Carlson put his eye out.

Still wish we could have used the scholarship on a QB, but oh well.

most just don't offer them right out of high school. You usually don't put your snapper on scholarship until he becomes the starter or earns the starting job his first year. I have a friend that snapped in the SEC, and he was on scholarship. He just wasn't on scholarship until he had earned the starting job.
