Nothing like losing to a first time starter after you’ve had an extra bye week to prepare and game plan.

Of course they are! More opposing QB long runs in Tony White’s future??
He's going with a more mobile QB against us. We need to be willing to bench Raiola if needed. If he is a future top NFL draft pick he should be able to win and keep the job over Haarberg and Kaelin. We need to give the latter two guys a chance to win the starting job and make sure everyone knows that nothing is guaranteed.
We should also give guys like Benning a chance to start over guys like Gifford who haven't played particularly well. Seniority and stars means nothing in life.

not only did they pick us as their homecoming game but also a good opponent to break in a new QB

here's hoping Nice Guy Rhule has the boys ready to roll

I will say this: it does seem awfully interesting how many teams face Nebraska this year coming off a bye week. Even when we have a bye weekend, the other team we face is coming off a bye, too. It’s almost as if the conference is sticking it to us or something.

USC and Riley are feeling a lot of pressure too. They still have a game against ND and we all saw that UCLA is better than their record and the game is in the Rose Bowl. At 4-5 they have to win 2 of 3 games to be bowl eligible. Most people are just counting us out in this game and that may help take some pressure off, as well as not playing in Lincoln.
USC has speedy talented receivers, but we were fine against the two other teams with speedy, talented receivers. It was actually the ground game that hurt us the most against UCLA. They had more rushing yards in one half than Ohio St.

ohiost never got off the bus against us

they were looking ahead to their game in happy valley

SC will be ready to go. Rhule has never beaten Riley. here's hoping he's sick of being the nail and finally gets the boys to play like the hammer.

Here's my fantasy: What would be the upside for Rhule announcing any changes right now? None, but I'm half convinced that Rhule is really fed up with this offense. I'm hoping that there will be an actual change to the play calling hierarchy which will result in a concerted effort to establish the run against these lightweights.

Also we're on the road so our mentally fragile team doesn't have to deal with the unbearable weight of playing in front of the too-demanding home crowd.

He’s no

He’s not a first time starter though.
Yeah he's a UNLV transfer. Moss was actually the guy that was expected to be a Heisman finalist and potential first round pick. He isn't bad. he just isn't very mobile and I think Riley knows that's one thing our defense excels against.

And the home crowd at USC is about as passive as a crowd can get. If they even bother driving to the stadium. Which I don't blame them for not doing. LA traffic sucks.

His AD and boosters of substance are fed up with his OC’s offense. Changes are coming. They have to be.

I firmly believe that the team who showed up against Colorado in the first half could run with anyone in the country.

Get that team to show up even 75% of the time and we could finish 9-4.

There is no way Riley will bench Moss. He's too stubborn and arrogant. Huskers by 3 and believe me I hope it's by ALOT more so we can get rid of this guy! Please do us a solid!

Giving the short flight from PHX, I planned to attend next week and then attend UCLA game at Rose Bowl next year.

Maybe next year, which coincidentally has been the theme of Nebraska football for 20+ years.😝

Doubtful. CU played a tough schedule in last year of PAC. Much easier this year. Getting stomped by us proves my point. You might make a case based on our OSU performance though.

It kinda worries me when I think about Red Sox fans saying that for 86 years....

Like to help, but you clearly haven't been watching Husker football the last 4 games or so. We're clueless on offense and the defense is crumbling. USC by 14

One of those things you would think a league would try to avoid... unless of course they are doing it on purpose.

There's not a doubt in my mind that this team plays better on the road. The Colorado game was an aberration. Hopefully they have a decent game plan and play loose.

Side note to the comments about playing well against Ohio State. Ohio State has 10 players ranked in the top 101 prospects for the 2025 NFL draft. Just think about that. It's possible that one in every ten players out of the first 100 players drafted will be from Ohio State. Meanwhile, Nebraska will once again hope to get a player or two drafted on day three.

I believe the Huskers benefited with OSU looking ahead to PSU let’s hope USC looks ahead to their matchup with UCLA that follows the next week.

No. Raiola is our starter for a reason. Haarberg sucks as a QB. Was anyone surprised he tossed a pic to end our last drive? He threw a pass that was a desperation toss-up to “whoever” at a time when things were not yet desperate.
That is HH. Rinse, cycle, repeat.

Not sure how his pass on the interception could be considered desperate. He tried to gun it in there in between coverage, however it looks like he was starting it down the entire way and he paid no attention to the safety. Bad decision, yes. Desperate, not even close.

Which is why I said it was a desperation throw when there was no need for one. I still think it looked like he felt as if he had to complete that pass or else.

If Raiola is playing so poorly that we have to start playing one of the worst quarterbacks in husker history instead, then we are in a world of hurt

There's no doubt about that. We played really well and Ohio State played their worst game of the year by quite a margin.

LOL sorry we are not beating USC. I give us about a 5% chance. USC is not having a great season but they play much tougher in their house. We’re the team traveling across time zones and are flat out awful!

When have our guys EVER snuck up on someone and stolen a victory? Since we’re going to lose, let’s get some underclassmen some in game experience and build for the future and sit the losing culture.

Many will think this is doom and glooom but I’ve seen enough and I’m just being realistic.

Against USC 5%
Against Wisconsin 35%
Against Iowa 15%

I agree on Raiola but I didn't quite see it that way with HH. That last pass was nice tight spiral just not on the outside shoulder and not leading the WR enough. Just missed it I thought. I'm in no way the bench Raiola, start HH. HH has clearly improved, just not enough to play at Nebraska.

That pass should not have been thrown at all. Our guy had double coverage. There was time left. Throw the damn ball away at that point. But no… the allegedly “improved” HH did the same damn thing he did last year: make a stupid *** decision causing a turnover late in a game we still had a chance to win.
