my guess - He will not be let go at Ohio State, Football is much bigger than academics at OSU. I doubt that anything will be done - maybe a suspension for a non-conference cake-walk. At many schools, this would not be tolerated. But, at others, football is bigger than "school" . when you win at 85% or whatever his win % is at Ohio State, it will take more than this to be dismissed. The standards are not equal.

For all the reasons the OP suggested, I was never convinced he was gone, UM is the second best person at his job on the entire freaking planet. I wondered this as well in another thread. The guy who broke this news has authored 4 books, all on Ohio State football, one of them titled "What it Means to be a Buckeye," with a foreword from Urban Meyer. If you want to look impartial, have someone else break this news. As it happens, it doesn't sound impartial at all, and could even look like Ohio State is firing up the propoganda machine to turn the tide in UM's favor so that they keep him as coach.

It’s hard not to be cynical here and think that they’re just pushing it out further and further so that when they keep him it’s not a shock.

I just thought his word choice of ‘doing my best to keep an open mind’ was interesting. Makes it sound like he already has some possible strong feelings. And he ultimately decides the fate of UM.
