We can't turn the ball over at the same clip we have been doing and we need to slow down their big guy. Seems unlikely. Then a bunch of other stuff needs to go right.

It would be a season saver if we win and just another loss if we don't. We are supposed to lose so the pressure is all on Duke.

I'm going to the game and I'm expecting a loss. Duke is really really good and we just licked our wounds against a ****** Coppin State team but that game doesn't show us much of what to expect on Thursday.

The only true take away was that we got healthier. Boat seemed all systems go and Purvis was less of a shell of himself. The key will be to have Brimah stay out of foul trouble so he can check Okafor, if he's not in Okafor will have his way with us

If Brimah picks up 2 quick fouls, a likely scenario covering the crafty Okafor, in comes Nolan or Lubin for heavy minutes at the 5.

In 1999 Khalid El Amin, Rickey Moore and Rip Hamilton rose to the occasion against a Duke team that started FIVE (5) future NBA 1st round draft picks and was a 10 point favorite in the game. They shocked the world. Although Rip Hamilton dropped 27 and got Final 4 MVP, it was Rickey Moore whose penetration destroyed Duke in the 1st half, and El Amin's in the second half. I can still remember 2 plays, 1 by El Amin dribbling through the entire Duke team and floating a jumper over Elton Brand's outstretched hand, and then his FTs to ice.

In 2004, with 4 minutes to go, UConn is down 75-67 when Rashad Anderson hits a big 3 to cut the lead to 5. Duke then does not score another FG until the final buzzer which was a gimme. In the interim every Duke shot was contested and UConn went from 75-67 down to 79-75 up after Okafor made some FTs. The heroes were Rashad, Emeka and UConn's collective defense.

Who on this UConn team will man up and be the man or the men? We need some heroes.

Not sure if this is a good sign or bad but Duke didn't beat ELON today by more than 10-12........either that means we have a legit shot or Duke will come out swinging mad.

For some reason I think we win this game.

This Duke isn't a must win but a game that we certainly need to have to breathe easier. We literally don't have any chances left to bolster our resume.

Let's say we lose to Duke, we will really need to win the AAC otherwise we will be sweating it out big time come selection sunday:

Florida isn't who we thought they were (same goes for us) and Stanford on the road would turn out to be the best chance left to add an impressive win to our resume.

The AAC is a steaming pile of dog crap right now and conference play will offer us more chances to ruin our resume rather than add to it.

I don't like to call games in December must wins because that's just crazy but this is as close to one as it gets

If the AAC is a steaming pile of dog crap we should be able to win the league and tourney titles, the tourney is in Hartford this year. Otherwise, if we lose to Duke, it could get dicy with this team. I think they will need to win the AAC although if they are borderline, one would think defending champ gets some courtesy from the Committee.

Agreed we should win but anything can happen in a tourney setting even if it is in Hartford this year. Heck we lost to Yale in Gampel...I just don't want to have all our eggs in the winning AAC Tourney basket, although it seems like this is where our year is heading and it makes me nervous but I digress. As KO says let's enjoy the process

If nothing else, it would make the AAC tournament interesting, wouldn't it? Maybe even boost attendance, if UConn was thought to need to win that baby?

No one is giving us a chance at all - this is where we do our best work, but I'm still not sold on this team being able to beat a squad of Duke's caliber yet. I'm still predicting a loss but a much closer battle than many are expecting

If we win which I expect... We will win close like 3-7 points.

If we lose I say at least 10

Nolan has played his best minutes so far this year tonight. Could not have picked a better game to do it.

Boatright showing great quickness to get to his spots.

Team offense looks pretty bad though. Duke defending well.

Great points off turnovers. UConn looks great in transition and really bothering Duke on the perimeter.

I don't complain about coaching much. But why no facey the last 15 minutes he was playing good. Unless he had 2 fouls

Dukes pretty average, problem is we have one good offensive player. It's ashame because we have some grit.

If purvis doesn't start playing with some confidence I'm not only going to key the Ferrari, but also going to drive it back to nc state.

You just knew when Boat missed that FT to put ahead UConn, Duke got a little boost. And sure enough they rattle off 3 straight baskets and look more energized.

Your not going to hold duke to 50 points, you have to make buckets. We've missed a lot of easy shos.

North Dakota, i hear yah, but this is uconn, we don't do moral victories.

Mcgoo, only 34-13 disparity at the ft line. My fav was when jones pushes off on facey and they give him an and one, the flagrant on samueils was pretty bad too. But You know you're going to get screwed playing them, which is why you have to finish easy opportunities and we didn't.

Purvis and the zebras were their co mvps.

Okafor is a talent and seemed like a nice classy kid in the post game. Especially impressed with how he passes out of a double.

Kentucky would have whupped duke by 25 tonight.

UConn played well enough defensively, but can't win playing 1 on 5 against a team like Duke. Facet looked pretty good but outside of Boatright and some good garbage buckets by Facey there is no offense.
