UM Transfers Tracker Thread

I was skimming through a lot of threads to track down who all is rumored to be transferring from UM, and it occurred to me that we need a tracker thread. Here's what I've got so far:

View attachment 9156

I'm not very good at keeping up with everything. So, if you see another potential transfer with good sources, reply to the thread with the transfer and the source, and I'll add it (if y'all think it's worth tracking). If this doesn't seem to be a good idea, I'll delete the thread.

What say the pack?

I think he told them he was staying. I'm not sure UCLA has put a big push on

for him yet and don't know how it will impact him if the transfer thing gets out of hand.
Sometimes these things can snowball.

The Bears have been taking care of his parents. I doubt he goes anywhere, but you never know.

No way they let them both transfer out if there's any way they can stop it. I think they'd do something that could potentially get them the death penalty if that's what it takes to keep Ta'amu.

Absolutely they would. And I wouldn't blame them. Going into next year without a returning QB would be brutal. I guess they could go find a JUCO for this year and back him up with a true freshman (or go get two JUCO qbs), but damn that could get ugly quick.

A bear coworker was trying to sell excitement about the scholarships these transfers are gonna open up, as if they don't have room for all 11 of those commits... And I'm guessing they won't be able to fill them until 2019 anyway.... How does the scholarship reduction work with counting back? Will they be able to replace the 4 they lose this year next year?

He should consider it. A UCLA degree carries a lot more weight than a UMiss one ... if that's a factor in his decision.

Being from Hawaii, you know he looked up to Marcus mariota. Well, you know who coached MM in college... he at UCLA now

True. I don't understand how he wound up at Ole Miss, of all places. Most people in Hawaii probalby have never heard of the place.

Someone correct me if wrong but don’t think it works this way at all. Teams are only able to fill 25 schollys each year regardless of how many are vacated by players leaving. Once they reduce the schollys they were penalized each year through 2019(I think) they will only be able to award around 20 scholarships at the most for the next few years.

Anybody interested in providing some info on these players? I think everybody knows who Patterson, Van Jefferson, Greg Little are. I gather Dontay Anderson was highly rated. What about the rest? Which ones have played and/or which ones were highly rated and expected to contribute later?

If you Google their names, there's a decent amount of Bio info that comes up, ESPN, 247, UM athletic site. I would post it all, but it would take a good bit of time. Msstate7's reply with their composite ratings and stars is a pretty good summary.

I think it's hilarious they are saying some of these guys were non-contributors. Where do they think talented, experienced juniors and seniors come from, thin air? I'd also like to see how their replacements compare (if these actually transfer and if UM actually has enough scholarships on the next cycle to replace them with). I wonder if those guys would be instant SEC-quality contributors.

So a player stating on a public forum that he's not going to Michigan and happy to be at Ole Miss is not a good enough source to believe he's probably not gonna transfer? Alrighty then.
