hope you don’t mind my posting. I came here through a link of Huggins post game interview from our board. After watching the interview, I noticed some negative messages on here in regards to Huggins. That’s natural after some tough losses. My own fan base has had plenty of frustions with Cal and his one and done teams. Here’s the bottom line: there is no coach in America that fits UK basketball better than Cal. Likewise, there is no coach in America that fits West Virginia basketball quite like Huggins. Huggins is a hell of a man, and coach. He’s a players first coach. Imo that’s the only reason he’s still coaching. To help young men grow as basketball players and individuals. I’ve done my research. He does a lot for the community. He loves West Virginia. He loves his players. He loves the fans. He put West Virginia basketball BACK on the map. He’s had his demons, we all have. His calling out the players publicly isn’t something we’re used to these days. He’s old school. He does this for their own good in his mind, not to tear them down. He’s of a dying breed. One of the few genuine coaches left. There isn’t a coach in college that I respect more than Huggins. Even my own. It started the day I watched him on the floor with Da’Shaun butler. He’s a special man, and a great coach. Enjoy him while he’s there. I wrote this because I like your fan base, and respect Huggins. Our states are similar in heritage, and I live roughly 2 hours from the state line. You guys have one of the best arenas I have seen, and from what I heard, were very respectful to our fans that made the trip. (I know this is log and clustered, but it is what it is.)
