Michigan State and NC State are said to be the leaders in Blake Harris sweepstakes. UConn does not offer a starting gig, just a backup role. Why waste time on guards anyway, when there is no talent at the 4 and 5 and utterly no rim protection (Cobb had 6 blocks shot total last season).

We could still use guard depth as well and Harris seems like he would be a solid contributor for multiple years.

NC State just got a PG Lavar Batts and MSU is gonna get Mark Smith soon.

I think it'll come down to us and Mizzou.

This thing is so far off the tracks they need bodies everywhere. Agree with need at 4-5 but KO only has three 1-2's on the roster also, so he needs everyone he can get. Especially with the injury history and what he already went through last year...with 3 guys as question marks coming off of them. I'd say his need is another combo guard, a wing, and experienced grad transfers or talented enough players to start at both the 4 and 5..as a minimum..

IMO in order to field a decent team next year we need to land the following:

Blake Harris
Mamoudou Diarra
Cameron Johnson - Pitt Grad Transfer

Then add in some bigs but IDK which ones.

I would sign up for this in a heartbeat, a starting 5 of

Gilbert
Adams
Larrier
Johnson
(Insert Big Man here)

would be potent with Vital/Harris spelling the guards or coming into the fold in 3 guard lineups

then it would just be a matter of who wins out playing time wise between Cobb, Carlton, Diarra, Diarra, and whoever else comes on board.

Harris and Johnson would be perfect adds. Won't be easy though.

There hasn't been a peep about Johnson, so we're totally in the dark there.

I think he does a lot well, but more often than not freshman bigs rack up fouls fast. So we'll need more depth at the center spot for sure.

anderson, Carlton comes from a big time program and has some size and explosiveness. If only we had someone that could develop him???

Does the ex-UW recent hire coach Bigs?

The benefits of having a super recruiter with west coast connections outweighs the necessity to develop bigs and maintain a strong relationship with New England pipelines but Carlton will have access to YouTube premium so he can look up commercial free basketball drills

Yes and because Chillious coached on the west coast for a few years after leaving Villanova, there is no way his recruiting prowess will translate to the east coast. And we will surely miss Glen Miller's massive effect on our bigs over the past few years.

Oh boy is this where you try to say he didn't develop the bigs when opposing coaches doubled the post every game?

I'm over debating this stupid topic. KO is regularly out coached, can't put the ball in the hoop, can't keep a team together, can't give away scholarships in the first place, he's going to get fired because he's trash and hopefully sooner rather than later so we don't have to spend another 5 years as a middling team in a JV conference.

No it's when I say that maybe we need to recruit better big men if we aren't going to coach them up that much.
