I actually have Blades to thank for not missing this game. A while ago Blades had suggested downloading the Fox Sports App. I did, and favorited UConn on the app.

I totally forgot UConn was playing today while working at home. Totally blinked on it. FS App sent me an alert on my phone 5 minutes before tip off.

Thanks Blades and Fox Sports!

I’m mush.

we’d be down 20 if not for Cole.

sanogo having his game where he looks like he’s never played before. Jackson is playing wild. And the whistle favors the home team.

recipe for disaster.

I would say it is kind of hard to blow out any Big East team or even win by double digits on the road, including at DePaul. Just ask Seton Hall, Xavier, and Rutgers. I will take the 7 point win.

The stats say UConn won the game with defense and rebounding. 45-35 on boards and 28% FG shooting by Depaul. Just win baby.

One lesson of basketball is that when you shoot sub 30% at home you suck moose balls or are being well defended, and quite possibly both. I am guessing DePaul shot around 20% second half because they shot 37% first half. UConn didn't get lit up.

Thank goodness for defense, rebounding and RJ Cole, or it could have been an ugly loss. Games like these remind of early Calhoun games when Uconn would grind 'em out with guys like Lyman Depriest ( who couldn't play a lick of offense) but was a lock down defender. That's the good thing about D, it always travels well, even when you can't hit a thing on offense.
