yes but you have to consider its quite a comedown from winning a national championship to not making the tournament and being an also ran in a bad conference

its about expectations. I am sure the UConn fans are not happy campers this year. At least RU fans have football to fall back on.

Another reason why Syracuse raced for a post-season ban this year (including ACC Tourn ban) was that the ACC Tourn was again going to be in Greensboro, NC...something Cuse and their fans hated last year.

If Cuse didn't do anything...and by the time NCAA made their decision/punishment...Cuse could have missed out on the ACC Tourn in DC next year...or in Brooklyn for the 2 years after that.

Don't count UCONN out yet their conf tournament is in Hartford and they have a pretty good path to the finals

except your are forgetting that they are not very good so home court will not mean much. Not a good year for them to have the tourney in Hartford. When they get bounced out early the empties will be epic

Last year it was in Memphis (UCONN won), This year in Hartford. In 2016 and 2017, it will be at the new home of the Orlando Magic (Amway Center) in Orlando.

Yea I agree they are not very good but their path is not really super hard to just get to the finals then anything can happen.

Joking around but women's tournament was always at UCONN which I thought was a disgrace.

Yea I agree they are not very good but their path is not really super hard to just get to the finals then anything can happen.

This year the AAC Tourn is pretty wide open...as many teams are rebuilding this year (i.e. UCONN, Cinci especially), so anything can happen.

Last year, the AAC had 5 Top 25 teams, not so this year...but next year, they should be a stronger hoop conf.

Making money is more important to conferences than anything else, and Hartford -- by far -- would have sold the most tickets in any season.

Heck, the women's NCAA Tournament for several years was an embarrassment with lower-seeded teams getting to play at home because they bid to be hosts knowing they could sell more tickets than a neutral site. And then often didn't.

I don't mind a tournament having a permanent home, if it's centrally located and not in one team's backyard. The American is moving from place to place and would not draw well at a truly neutral site.

Can you imagine the attendance in Hartford if it's Tulsa-SMU in the final? Then again, could you imagine the attendance in Dallas if it was a Tulsa-SMU final?
