As you said, Michigan is likely to steamroll UConn. Arizona had been the best team in college basketball coming into the tournament and Michigan made them look absolutely silly yesterday.
Losing in the BTT must have lit a fire under them. Barring something completely unforeseen, Michigan will beat UConn by double digits.
And 90% of the country will be happy they did.

I can’t think of a single coach past or present who matches Hurley’s douche-E-ness. Bo Ryan was a prick, Bob Knight was an @zzhole, Steve Alford was a smug pissant, and of course Tom Izzo is a whiny little b*tch.
But Danny Hurley makes all of them look like amateurs in the way of being unlikable.

We did have them scheduled in the early 2010s, Realignment screwed it up and the games were canceled. Fun fact: UConn is Kirk Ferentz Alma mater...

A long overdue bb title for BIG is good for Iowa bb.

Polishing up the BIG reputation as THE #1 league in bb as well as FB makes the league more attractive to recruits.
Iron sharpens iron so the league should continue to produce 4-5 elite eight quality teams going forward..that's how you stack titles.

Michigan has a deep bench, but if the Big Ten Player of the Year is hobbled that hurts Michigan. And yes UCONN is extremely fortunate to still be playing, but here they are.
That's why it's extremely difficult to win a National Championship, you need to be really good and have some luck along the way typically.
Underwood either got out coached or his game plan was crap. Illinois played hero ball and got bounced. Don't think that will be a problem for Michigan, but count UCONN out at your own peril. They have great players too and Hurley can Coach some as well.
I hope the Big Ten breaks the streak, and was hoping for an all Big Ten Final to assure it, but here we are.

You are definitely right about having some luck along the way….Illinois had a pretty salty team two years ago and they had to play that UConn team who I thought was was one best college teams I had ever seen. (I think Charles Barkley said the same)

This year would be more of an accomplishment because they were underdogs in several games and there have been several very good teams to strengthen the field this year, and this wasn't even their best team of the title teams. It's just how the tournament unfolds based on the luck of the draw/matchups, unfortunately.
Fwiw, I don't think we would've beat UConn had we made the F4 either. But blame Duke for choking.

I dislike most of the coaches you listed more than I dislike Danny Hurley. But to each his own.
I find Hurley to be kind of a weirdo. Which perhaps makes him a bit more likeable. Maybe he's a weirdo because he doesn't take himself too seriously? I don't know. Just a theory.

I’m admirer of how Hurley coaches basketball. Yes I am. Does he seem like a douche? Sure. But guess what? We really don’t know what most coaches are really like.
